We bought a house that had to have renovations done. The condo sold, and so we had the Avenue Moving guys come give an estimate based on some internet research. The office people are very good. professional, etc. The 'estimator' was also "ok", no problems there. This is not a cheap company by any stretch, but I didn't want headaches in this area. The initial "leg" out of our move, which was condo into the storage facility they use went fine. We had pre-packed everything into boxes, marked heavy boxes, etc., so "all" that had to be done by the movers was take apart a bed, a cabinet (as a part of their 'deal' is if they take it apart, they put it back together), and move the boxes into the van and out. This move had 1 head mover and 2 'other' movers/helpers. A few months later, the same "head / lead" mover was in charge of the move from storage into our house. This time however, it was only him plus one other fellow/helper. Before reading the rest, note that we had just installed brand new "estate" hardwood flooring throughout. The guys came, and put up the thin protector/non-slip sheets going up the stairs, and down the hallway. However unlike in their move OUT of the condo, they didn't cover their shoes. So what does this mean? After two "in-outs" I saw a thin scratch on our hardwood close to the door. The mover noticed me looking and said, "hey you've got a scratch there eh?" Now I know for sure that it wasn't there before, but hey, what can I say.... So time passes, and they have to move a rectangular (longer height) up the stairs and into a bedroom. Given that at this point I was a bit 'nervous' of these guys, I went up the stairs first, and into the room. I saw them struggle up the stairs, into the room, and the 'lead guy' says "it's going down" and drops the edge on the sheet covering the ground. After seeing that he was ok, I wanted to check the floor with them, and there was a good 1/3" compression of the wood for about 2" across. The colour was not damaged however. The lead person's first words: "That was there before". I was SO angry that I told him: "So what you're telling me is that you dropped this RIGHT THERE, right in front of me, and that somehow in the exact location that happened to exist?" Anyways, they left, and I called the head-office. The lady who picked up was shocked (in a "oh no" way), and said that they'd send over the "Floor Doctor" in a couple of weeks to take a look. I sent her a couple of pictures for her records. A year has now past, and the "Floor Doctor" hasn't come yet. I'm not even bothering to call these guys back, and will make sure all my friends know of this experience. I actually am giving the 3 stars solely based on the "condo to storage" leg of the move.

We recently completed a renovation, and based on the word of a friend who had used Infinite Flooring decided to go with them for our job. There was quite a bit of work to be done: - Hardwood flooring to be installed on the main and second floors (old tiles and carpet were removed by a different contractor before we involved Infinite Flooring). - Baseboards on main and second floors - Iron Stair rails on the stairs going to basement and to second floor; As well as on each of those floors leading to next stairs - Removal of carpet from stairs, sanding the steps, and staining to match the hardwood floor - Installation of new curved wooden rail (which had to be molded), and posts. - Increasing size of foyer/entrance steps from by several inches (for safety and aesthetics), stain to match hardwood floor. Yes, a significant amount of work, and work that could have made or broke our renovation. Minh and crew worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was done on time and to our satisfaction. All feedback / requests that we provided to Minh was taken, and he and his team worked to meet those requests. We are quite pleased and happy with Minh and team's quality, diligence, and drive to make sure that we, the customers are pleased with the end result. I have no problem recommending Minh and Infinite Flooring to anyone.

We performed extensive renovations on a newly purchased house. Part of this work included replacing an aging furnace with a high efficiency model, a dying loud A/C with a new quiet model, replace wood fireplace with gas, draw gas line into patio for a bbq, and gas to the stove to replace an electric stove with a gas one. Extensive work.... Ultra Home was incredibly professional, and did an amazing job in all regards. Given that we were performing renovations (dusty), they recommended that some of the work which be done early, then after the dust had settled (literally) to complete the rest. They drew gas pipes for all of the items (very well hidden), installed the Regency gas fireplace (which I bought through them) wonderfully, not taking any short-cuts, and drawing the air/gas exchange pipes *up the chimney* as oppose to through the wall. I could go on and on, but in the end, I have to say: Great job on the installs, great job on the clean-up. Also, the first time I encountered a problem (a furnace code unrelated to their work) they were right on it, and helped out. In my experience, a true 10 out of 10 if there ever was one.

As mentioned right below, "Fast, affordable, friendly." That does sum it up. Henry is very dedicated to his workmanship and service that he provides, and prides himself on his company's reputation. We replaced an old sliding door into the backyard with an outswinging french door. Everything was great, and exactly on time and as promised. I would absolutely recommend his company's work to others. Henry stands by his words and does everything he can to correct issues. As an example, our only 'issue' was that although we didn't want a screen (which defeats the purpose of the French Doors), the door 'package' came with one, and so the assistant installed it. Although the screen can be removed, the issue was that the 'rail' for the screen requires it be screwed into the white base. Removing the rail results in the holes showing. Henry did try hard to find flat screws to conceal the holes (in the end, I found a more low-profile, concealed screw at HD). Again, I think Henry and his crew are awesome, and work very hard to make sure everything is as good as can be. Thanks Henry!

After getting quotes from a few of the top homestars companies, I found that: 1) It appeared that the main complaint from people revolved around the time from order until the door was ready 2) Excessive delays After seeing that the quoted prices were quite similar across the board, I chose to proceed with Doors and More based on Frank's timely communication / responses. The door was ready as promised within a couple of weeks, and as promised it is installed in my shower stall now (after a quick 30 or so minute install). The installers were very careful with the property, and cleaned up quite well. In the end, I believe that the 'immediate install' for my specific job was simple enough that most companies would have been fine, BUT, here is the important thing for me: Frank comes across as a man who takes great pride in his company's work and reputation. I feel comfortable that if there are any issues Frank will be right there throughout the warranty period to rectify the issue. That's key for me!

I contacted a handful of the top folks from Homestars, and found that the prices were generally in the same ball-park for my work. In the end I chose to proceed with Century Aluminum based on others' reviews, and Gary's GREAT and VERY TIMELY communication. Gary was super quick with the estimate, and the only change I made was to go with a heavier gauge aluminum. Gary contacted me about a week later and asked if the installation could be done a couple of weeks earlier that originally planned, and that was a good thing for us. The installation took place over two days (late afternoon Friday, and Saturday); his staff were very courteous and professional. Century Aluminum cleaned up around the house after their work each day With our busy schedule, this was an incredibly great experience, as we didn't need to manage the process. All communication was done via email which worked VERY well for me and my schedule. The day after the install there was a major rainstorm, and after spotting a few issues and telling Gary about them at 7AM, they were remedied the next day. I would without a doubt recommend Century to anyone needing aluminum eavestrough work. Their work is great, and you can tell that Gary prides himself on his company's reputation and work quality.

Not a lot to say... Worked with Brian to close on the work and timing of it. The installer was extremely friendly and clean in replacing the front-door locks (and handle-set), side-door deadbolt, and garage entrace deadbolt. Would recommend to friends and family.

We purchased a new house, and performed extensive renovations. As part of this, we purchased and required the install of: - Cloths Washer - Cloths Drier - Dishwasher - Counter-depth fridge - Built-in Microwave-Oven combo - "Pro" gas range - "Pro" vent and chimney The appliances were purchased from Tasco, who wanted a few hundered more to perform the installation. I'm sure that Tasco sub-contracts the work, and basically I'll have no way to vet the workers. I turned to homestars, and I was pleased that another installer on Homestars was honest enough to turn down the job stating that it's too big. Mark provided his quote, and after completion of my research we agreed on a date for the work. On the installation date, most appliances were installed 'easily', but Mark had to draw on his years of experience and expertise to install the hood. As it turns out, the Sirius Hood was rather heavy, and the supplied anchors would not hold it to our wall (as the joists were off from the install space. Mark worked around this beautiful by installing a metallic piece to the studs, and the vent to the metal piece. All in all, this was the MOST difficult task of the install. At this time however the chimney had not yet arrived, and Mark said he would come back when it arrives to install the chimney portion. Upon arrival of chimney, it was observed that the way to hang the chimney required more space at top than we had available. Mark pulled his guys back, and told me he would personally come to install it. And he did. A clean job, which completed the kitchen. In the end, in my opinion, Mark is worth every penny. His work is clearly top-notch, and he is true to his word when it comes to what he charges (exactly per the quote, despite all the "gotcha's" along the way. I'm sure I won't need it, but it's also great to know that Mark warranties his work, so if anything does go wrong, he's a phone call away. The only area of improvement I would suggest is that (because of his busy schedule) Mark can be a bit hard to get a hold of (directly), but again, I was never in a state of 'panic' when it comes to Mark's work (in specific HIS work). Thanks Mark for everything!

The A&A guys were on-time, on-budget, and very friendly. The chimney looks great, the foundation cracks were fixed, as were the window sill bricks. My only concern (which was immediately rectified) was that the there was no caulking put back to cover the gap between the window sill bricks and the metal flap. There was a huge storm, and some water came in (luckily we were in renovation, and so it was fixable). A&A (Andy) quickly sent someone out to caulk, and that fixed the issue (no leaks since). After caulking, Andy mentioned that they don't believe there was caulking there before their work, but I did point out that every other window sill (OTHER than the ones that were worked on) had old caulking on it. Overall I'm very satisfied with A&A. That little detail was the only sour point, and one which COULD have been a bigger issue had we actually not been doing full blown renovations. I'm sure this was an isolated case, but wanted to share that, so that the next person who doesn't know what to look for during the post job inspections at least knows this much.

We were in the last stages of renovation with dusty floors (and everything) when we installed the Chandelier in the dining room. Manuel arrived EXACTLY on-time and was efficient, friendly and hard-working. He even laid out a sheet on the floor despite the dust already there! The install had its 'quarks' (e.g. no installation manual in the box, one decorative piece missing [which Manuel spotted before starting work], etc). After hanging the piece up and trying to put on a shade, we realized that the shade had to somehow be put 'in the middle' of the chandelier (e.g. before hanging). So the guys took the chandelier down and did it again. This happened due to lack of a manual/schematics paper. Despite all of this, the guys were professional, friendly, and clearly WANTING to do a good and presentable job. I would highly recommend Manuel to anyone.
