When I contacted Alex about removing my existing wall oven, and installing a new one, he told me he had done this many times before, and quoted me a price of $125. When he arrived to do the installation, he said he would need another person to help him, and doubled the price to $250. Since I was unable to wait, I agreed. He then proceeded with the install. When he connected the oven's wiring to the wiring in the wall, he apparently ended up using under-sized connectors, and 'sealed' the connections using masking tape, NOT electrical wiring tape. A few days later, my wall oven completely stopped working. I called the oven manufacturer's service department, and they sent over a technician. The technician removed the wall oven, and showed me the wiring connection - BURNT, BLACKENED, with melted gobs of wire insulation. He told me I was fortunate that the fire did not spread! So, I contacted Alex to see what he would do to fix the problem. As soon as I told him what had happened, he IMMEDIATELY STOPPED COMMUNICATING - didn't return phone calls or messages. Rather than continuing to bat my head against a wall, I just went ahead and hired a licensed electrician to re-install my oven properly. So, my advice to you - if you come across this character, BEWARE!!!

Alex and his staff were excellent. They came when they promised to, and did an excellent job of redesigning and replacing my backyard patio. The patio work required Alex and staff to do very careful measurement, and precise cutting of one h*ll of a lot of patio stones. They worked long days to get the job finished as quickly as possible, and Alex visited a few time afterwards, to ensure that the sod replacement was 'taking', and to ask if we were satisfied - we definitely are. Our house is in the Mississauga L5C 2W7, and we'd be pleased to have any of Alex's prospective clients come over to have a look. I highly recommend Alex, and will definitely be calling on him in the future should we need further yardwork, landscaping or driveway stuff!

In 1999, I had all the windows in my house replaced by Brock. The original job they did was excellent, and I was very pleased. The windows and crank mechanisms came with a lifetime warranty. I didn't think much about the warranty at the time. So, time marches on, and SIXTEEN YEARS LATER, the cranks on two of my windows failed. I called up Brock, expecting to be given some run-around. To my great surprise, the young lady who answered the phone simply asked me for my phone number, looked up my original purchase in a matter of seconds, and said "No problem - we'll order the replacement parts at no charge to you". And she promised to call me back when they arrived. Well, a few days later, I got a call from the same young lady, telling me my parts had arrived. I picked them up and was able to install them in less than 10 minutes!! Brock, thanks for a great product and great customer service. When my windows need replacing in another 20 years or so, I will be sure to call you.

Scot is quite ingenious in 'making things fit', and Brian is one of the most careful and meticulous tradespeople I've met. They worked on a time and materials basis, but were always mindful of the time they were taking. Cleanup at the end of each day was the norm, and they always asked if things were going as I expected. I highly recommend them.

Scott is the owner and 'master craftsman'. He initially provided me with an estimate exactly along the lines I wanted (detailed costs for all supplies, fixtures, etc, and a detailed estimate of the labour. More importantly, as the job progressed, I made many minor (and some major) changes to the original specs. Not only did Scott accommodate them all, he acted as a very professional consultant, advising me of the pro's and con's of the changes I wanted to make. He had a very strong 'can do' attitude, and came up with some very ingenious solutions to various problems encountered during the renovation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him, although he may be hard to get on the schedule you may want (because he's got quite a backlog of work).

Last year, I was shopping for a contractor to do a complete bathroom renovation. I went to Plumbing Mart because they were close by, and seemed to have a reasonable range of bathroom accessories and shower stalls. I met with one of the salespeople, described what I was looking for, and specifically asked that they provide me with a quote that detailed the cost off all materials and goods, and separately showed the estimate for labour. The person agreed, and told me he would get back to me within a week. One week later, I received a phone call, asking me to come to their showroom for a "presentation". "Presentation?" I said. "I wanted a written estimate". I was told I would get this when I came to see them. So I made an appointment. When I met the salesperson, I told him that before he started on the presentation, I just wanted to confirm that I would receive a quote for the job in the way I asked, and not just one bundled number. He then told me they don't do that - they would only quote one total number that included everything. I asked him if he understood my original request to have the costs broken out in detail. He confirmed he did, but couldn't give me a quote that way. I then told him he should have declared that when I first saw him, so that he wouldn't waste my time as well as his. I told him I thought their practice was deceptive and somewhat dishonest, and walked out without listening to the "presentation".
