My husband and I bought a mattress from The Brick after our wedding. We were initially going in with a budget of $500, however once we got in there, they were showing us mattresses in the $1,000-$1,500 range. We were a little upset at first, but after a full explanation as to why we were being shown the higher priced mattresses (the quality was much greater), we decided to purchase one for about $1200. And boy were we ever glad! We truly appreciated the expert help without them being pushy.

I had went shopping at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall a few times and have always had very satisfying experiences. One time I went in and was specifically looking for crocheted doilies and asked the sales clerk where I could find some, as they are here, there and everywhere, and she kindly showed me booths where she had remembered seeing them. This is always the first place I think to go to when I think of antiques.

I personally have never had a good experience at Fabricland. The first time I went there put me in a bad mood about the place, and it hasn't been redeemed since. The staff were so rude, and not helpful at all. I kept running around from sales person to sales person and they kept sending me in circles. And, to top it off, once I did find what I needed, I waited in line for 15 minutes before purchasing. The staff never look friendly there. I'm going to start buying my fabric at more locally owned places.
