Used Gum Tree to design and build some cabinets in our home. We turned our unused formal living room into a home office with built-in desk space and storage cabinets, including a pull out printer cupboard. We also had a built-in "buffet" with storage and display space in the dining room. Amanda and Corey & their team were all amazing to work with. The cabinets are beautiful, excellent quality and workmanship (this was done 4 years ago and they still look brand new!) The crew was polite and friendly, and their clean up was excellent. I think my house was cleaner when they left than before they did their work! Would highly recommend Gum Tree and hope to use the again in the future.

Used AGM for a full kitchen renovation including flooring in kitchen and adjacent family room. The first red flag that I ignored, is that they don't even come to your house to give a quote, it's all done online. They don't come to your home until you have signed a contract and paid a deposit. From the second they took our deposit it was a a bad experience. If I could go back in time I'd rather lose the $2500 deposit and just start over and use someone else. The project didn't start on time, it took far longer than they said it would, many weeks where nothing was being done and zero communication. Cabinets arriving damaged. Flooring damaged during installation. The cabinet people never cleaned up afterwards, and I had to spend hours vacuuming and mopping and dusting every time they came. They didn't clean the cabinets after installation was complete. We had to vacuum all the sawdust out of the cabinets ourselves, plus clean the door fronts from dust and finger prints. Who turns over a dirty kitchen as a finished product? We have a drawer that has never worked since day one despite several attempts to fix it. I have several doors that have imperfections in them that I just let go because I was tired of dealing with AGM. Several chips and imperfections in the crown molding that were just caulked over. Six months later the flooring is coming up at the seams in many locations. The attention to detail and quality is severely lacking. After spending all this money, we are certain that in the not too distant future we are going to have to re-do quite a bit of the work. Don't waste you money with AGM!

Called for service on the furnace in our rental property because the tenant reported it wouldn't turn on. Prior to calling, we went to the home ourselves and checked the fuses and power switches and thermostat and couldn't find any issues. We made an appointment, and were told the technician would be there between 12-2pm. (Gotta love appointment windows!) Anyway, as the house is tenanted, I couldn't just wait in the house, so I sat in my car outside the home waiting for the tech to show up. At 1:00pm I was getting antsy so I called to see if there was an ETA. I was told the service girl was on lunch and no one else could help me. So I called back 2 more times before 2pm, with no sign of the service tech. Finally at 2pm the girl from the office called to tell me that the tech was running late would be there in 10 minutes. At 2:30pm the tech finally showed up. I sat in MY CAR for 2.5 hours waiting for this guy. We finally went in, and he flicked the power switch and the furnace on, just like that. I told him we checked that before, and it didn't work. He said the wiring in the house is old (which is true) so I should check that out but that there was nothing wrong with the furnace. Not sure how he knew that, since he didn't actually do anything to the furnace. This guy was in the house for literally 3 minutes, after showing up late with no call or warning and still charged me the full $100 service call fee. Definitely would NOT recommend this company.

Our 20 year home still had the original wooden framed windows and most of them were quite rotted and could longer be painted. We had 4 different companies out to quote the job. All were very knowledgeable, but Canadian Choice seemed to offer the most for your money. They also had a great financing option to spread the payments over 24 months with no interest. From the day we signed the contact to installation date was about 3 weeks. The job was done in 1 day. They replaced 16 windows (4 of which very large bay/picture windows) plus also the sliding glass door in the kitchen. The job was very well done, and they did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards as well. The windows are great, we can't wait for winter to see that they don't leak air like the old ones! We are very happy with Canadian Choice, we would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Hi Newlywed,
You may have posted your comment in the incorrect company profile? Unfortunatley our compnay name is very similar to another door to door furnace rental company. Please comfirm that it was in fact National Home COMFORT, as I do not have record of a service call matching your description in the last few weeks.
Please confrim and let us know, and I would be glad to look into the issue for you.
Thank You,
National Home Comfort Centre

Pete's Appliances was recommended to us by a friend when our washing machine stopped working. The machine is about 7-8 years old, but still in good shape, and since we plan to sell our house within the next year, we did not want to purchase a new one. The gentleman who came from Pete's was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of good information about our particular model. He quickly diagnosed that it was the latch on the lid, the machine wasn't recognizing it as being closed, and that's why it wouldn't start. He replaced the part and now it works just like new! Very happy with the service.

Used Deck Depot to tear down existing fence and put up new 5' pressure treated wood privacy fence. They did an excellent job, the fence looks amazing. They did a great job tying into existing fence that didn't need to be replaced and they were also very mindful of my neighbour's garden which ran almost the whole fence line. Not one lily was ruined! They were very professional and courteous, completed the job in 2 days, hauled away all the garbage & debris, excellent clean up job. Except for the nice new fence, you'd never even know they were there.

The job was quick, just 2 days for an approx. 2800 square foot house with a slightly complicated roof line. Job included all new flashing and roof vents. The new roof looks great, premium, life-time warranty shingles. The clean-up was just ok, not as good as I expected since the pride themselves on their clean-up. Even after their "magnetic sweep" we still found lots of nails all over our yard & deck, and also quite a bit of small garbage that wasn't picked up. They missed sealing one small section of flashing that I am trying to get them to return to complete, we'll see how that goes. Overall, we love the new roof, but there is nothing that stands out as "great!" about this company.
