We wanted a Phantom screen for years but put it off because we had a dog. Apparently, that should not have been a deterrent. The serviceman arrived promptly and installed the screen efficiently. Then he explained how it works. If the screen is pushed, it doesn't rip. It simply pops out of the track. A quick slide of the finger along the track slides it back in place. Dogs may hit the screen, but after a couple of times, they learn to avoid it, as we were told. When the screen is in use, it just looks as though we have the front door open. We can't even see the screen itself. We really enjoy having the extra air flow. The warranty or this product is fantastic. The serviceman even left us with a spray to keep the track slick. We'll maintain by cleaning it but that task is not onerous. Wish we had purchased this screen years earlier.

The surround around our pool consisted of large 5" thick slabs of concrete, separated by 2x4s and then covered with Duraroc. The whole thing was a mess and we needed a permanent solution. We found King Concrete Ltd. through Homestars. Elie is the President/Owner and his ratings are excellent for good reasons. First, his word means everything to him. He does not renege on his promises, whether they are in writing or not. He's "old schoool" which is refreshing these days. He had two men working very hard and long hours over the course of 4 days. These men took pride in their work. Elie dropped by daily to ensure all was well and there never was an issue with their work. The job took longer than anticipated because it was difficult to determine the thickness of the slabs and they found long circular concrete slabs buried underneath which needed to come out. Regardless, Elie stood by his quote. The work they did is perfect. Even with the odd shape pie lot and pool, the stones are professionally laid and eye pleasing. We would never hesitate to recommend this company. We had 3 other quotes but Elie, by far, provided the best quote. Elie is honest and ethical. Thank you for such a nice job! As soon as the pool is opened, we'll update this review with photos.

We had a 13-year old top of the line high-efficiency Carrier furnace. However, the motor died (about $1400). As well, the wire coating from the igniter melted and could have caused, as we were told, far more damage to another unit (about $1200). To replace it, which we did, cost almost $300. The company, where we purchased the furnace, said there's another major expense that could occur soon and recommended a new furnace. We used to be on a monthly contract with them. However, they never called as a reminder for us to book as they have too many clients. We eventually cancelled that contract after several years. Their service left much to be desired. This time around, we decided to deal with a different company...Appleby Systems. They came the very next day and installed our new system...a Coleman. We're not familiar with that brand but it came with a 10-year parts and labour warranty and $300 rebate. Can't beat that! The next day, we received a call to ensure we were pleased with their service. This person told us we'd receive a reminder call at our 1-year anniversary in order to book our free maintenance (something the other company would never do). So far, we've been extremely pleased with Appleby Systems. Our home is nice and toasty...and we've had to turn down the heat with our new furnace. We rated this company an 8/10. However, if future dealings with them are as successful as our intro, we'd have no hesitation to rate them as a 10 and recommend to friends and family. Customer service is very important to us. The servicemen we had at our house were great. The woman who followed up the next day couldn't have been better. She's a perfect representative for Appleby Systems. Try them out.

We've been dealing with Van Dongen for several years and would recommend them without hesitation. Our last purchase were 2 Greenspire Lindens. One tree was perfect while the other did not survive and was replaced. These trees are about 20 feet apart. There used to be several apple trees on the property, as our area used to be an apple orchard. For whatever reason, the replacement tree wasn't doing so well either. We dealt with Michael at Van Dongen and his service could not have been better. He asked us to be patient and provided us with nursery-grade fertilizer...two years in a row. This year, both trees look amazing. The replacement tree is smaller but has tons of leaves. It really filled out nicely. Michael is all about customer service. He stands by his products. His family-owned business is important to him and it shows. Thank you, Michael. We really love our trees.

We are so pleased with our 3 bedroom shutters. There is so much warmth in each room. Even improved the look from the outside. Second time using CCS and would always recommend. Excellent service and always prompt.

We hired Master Concrete to repave our 6-car driveway and were extremely pleased with the end result. Just before they were going to repave, we decided to edge the driveway with paving stones. Since this meant less concrete, they reduced the cost by $300. Master Concrete started the job one day early, which worked for us. They removed 2 layers of old concrete and let the rock settle for about 2 weeks before completing the job. They always left our premises clean. Master Concrete staff are pleasant and professional. We'd recommend them anytime.
