The possession date was forgotten by builder. He suggested moving in anyway despite the fact that the furnace was not operational (he was willing to provide a heater).I had to change the possession date and all of my moving arrangements to a later date. There was to be a new garage built. This was not provided. Instead the builder built over the original 1950's garage. The old cement slab was simply covered with a plastic material. I had to wait for weeks for the big garage door to be installed. I was not told this until the day before I moved in. Thus all of the valuables I had planned on storing in the garage were only secured by a pieice of wood the builder hammered on to replace the door. When the door did arrive it was discovered that the builder did not ensure there was an electrical outlet in the garage for the electric door. Thus another delay with the garage. When summer came and it was time to retrieve lawn chairs etc from the garage I discovered there was mold all over many items. I then discovered the garage did not have any outside vent installed. I had to have this done and pay for the cost out of my own pocket. During the walkthrough I discovered that airconditioning had not been installed. This was part of the purchase agreement and part of the reason I paid additional monies for this home. The builder forgot this was in the contract. There is hardwood over a space 3,000+ sq ft.in the house. There are huge gaps in the hardwood throughout the entire home. There was neither heat nor humidity in the house when the hardwood was installed. The humidifier was not operational until 4 mths after moving in. New appliances were to be provided. All of the appliances in the kitchen are mismatched. Two of them are dented and scratched .I later learned these were purchased from a scratch & dent store. The plumbing and bathroom fixtures are defective. Pieces of exterior of house have blown off. The property has failed city inspection in terms of grading three times . Ten months post purchase the backyard has still not been landscaped as promised. The home is over 3,000+ sq ft and only one cable jack was installed. Now, after the house has been completed, I will have to pay to have addtional cable jacks installed. A rather costly endeavor at this stage.
