I had a 9x12 sunroom installed in late October/November 2017. I was impressed by their product and price even though a friend in the window and door industry recommended that I not use Openview. Maurice was initially very helpful and friendly so I decided to go with them. It took many weeks after the promised date to have the project done, there was always an excuse as to why. The weather, no employees, he got married etc. In any event the sunroom was eventually constructed and I promptly went into the office and paid the balance owing. There was a 30% payment before starting which I gave him immediately Approximately 3 weeks after installation I noticed that there was a leak from where the roof of the sunroom joined onto the existing roof, which had been replaced just prior to the sunroom addition. (August 2017). I immediately contacted Maurice and he told me to take a picture which I sent to him. He promised to come and fix it. After a numerous amount of phone calls, and emails (over 2 years worth) there were more excuses as why it wasn't done. That's when he would answer back Eventually January 2020 I took the matter to the BBB. They tried their very best to help me rectify but Maurice eventually insulted them and they realized that even they couldn't help me. He blamed my roofing contractor even though I reminded him that the roof was done prior to the sunroom, on purpose. Complete diatribe to the BBB regarding my roofing contractor. The roofing company even offered to come out at the same time as Maurice for the repair, but of course he changed his tune and said that it was not necessary and he would be coming to fix the structure properly. (the roofing contractor told me to give Maurice a chance to fix it). Back and forth through the BBB he again gave his word that he would fix it. Just reviewing the original plans, the sunroom should never been attached directly to the roof. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Promise after promise after promise. I followed up with Openview about a month ago, regarding his promise to make right, by email and he told me at that time, he had sold the business, but was still coming to fix the leak when his employees returned to work on June 1. The following week I went to speak to him at his office. I was greeted by a nice lady who later Maurice told me was his daughter. He did not know that I had already spoken to her about his selling the business, before he came out of his cubicle and she was obviously puzzled at that. A few weeks ago, I received a money saving magazine in my mailbox with a full sized ad for Openview and guess what??? He has audacity to have the BBB logo in the ad. Open View is not BBB accredited whatsoever and my next step is to let them know about this and ask them to publish my case so the general public can make an informed decision. There are similar complaints as mine on this site and also homestars which is another forum that you can rate a business and leave a review. I have put off for the longest time doing reviews on this place but do not wish the same thing to happen to another potential customer
