I love to cross stitch and always go the the Needlewoman East shop when I'm in the Falls Church area. This shop has been around for years and they have personalized service and a huge selection of needlecraft products. I always find different cross stitch type kits that you just can't find at the 'Big Box' stores. The atmosphere of the store is homey and usually the owner is present. I recommend you make the trip if you are in the DC area. You'll be pleasantly pleased.

G Street Fabrics is located in Virginia and Maryland and they have a huge selection of fabrics and notions. There are tables and tables of sale fabrics and you can get great deals in any of the G Street Fabric stores. If you sign up for emails, they send you advance notice of the sales and percent of coupons via email. This is a great store for sewers of any genre.

I purchased a knick knack from The Second Yard to decorate my family room, but like anything in this store, the merchandise tends to be pricey. If you want to have curtains made or furniture upolstered, come here for a nice selection of designer fabrics. The quality is very good and you are paying for top of the line material. The knick knacks are very pricey, but sale items are more reasonable.

I often shop here with the 20% off coupon and get some good deals on linens. I have a big problem finding california king sized sheets, but twin and queen sizes are no problem to find, and usually there's a big selection. I recently bought some 400 thread count sheets and towels that were on sale, and they were made very nicely.

I began quilting over a year ago and took my first lessons at the Artful Quilter. The lessons were very helpful and informative, and the teacher was patient, provided great instruction, and very friendly. All employees that I met at the Artful Quilter are nice and welcome you as soon as you walk in the door. During the year, they hold some sales and their products are top-notch. I recommend quilters of all skill levels go to this store and see the quailty of product and instruction.

We shop at Ikea a couple of times a year and we always find a huge selection of furniture and accessories for every room in the home. Recently we purchased organization storage crates for the kids' room. They come in a variety of bright, pretty colors, with snap on lids and coasters on the bottom to roll anywhere you want. We purchase four and have found them indispensible for organizing toys and other items.

I shop at Merrifield Gardens for annuals and perinneals every year. They have a great selection and a wide assortment of plants. For the everyday annual, you can get cheaper plants at the big box stores, but the quality is usually not as high as Merrifield. I love their perinneals. They have some on sale, you just have to look for them. The service is outstanding and the staff is very knowledgeable. They have a great information counter, too.
