We now go to Cedar Rim for all our landscaping and garden needs. They are really nice, friendly and knowledgable. We've even used their landcape designer who gave us really good tips on starting our greenhouse. Their selection is by far the best in the lower mainland and plants from there seem to fare better than any other nursery. It's worth the trip. Take your time and see everything.

I wanted to make some simple curtains for my office. I went to the Fabricana in Coquitlam on United Blvd. The store is HUGE. The selection is delightful. I spoke with 5 sales people and each was friendly, professional, well-spoken and patient with this beginner. It's worth the trip from White Rock. If you don't find what you want here, you can check in with Fabricland acoss the street, but check with Fabricana first. Delishious fabrics, gorgeous prints and lushious colours. Plus they have classes (for beginners like me and experts in stuff like sewing a dress all the way up to doing alterations.

I have never been treated so badly by a business as I was at Fabricland in Langley! The salespeople almost made an art of snottiness, snobbery, arrogance, uncooperativeness and downright nastiness. I told them I needed a certain number of yards and they sneeered "This is Canada." and refused to cut my fabric until I figured out what I needed in meters. It wasn't until I got home that I realized she had a yard stick mounted on the table. It would have been a simple matter to just cut my yardage, but she refused. When I complained to the manager about the nasty woman's attitude she claimed that woman wasn't working that day. I pointed her out and the manager got huffy that her "mistake" was discovered. They were horribly rude. There is no excuse for this kind of poor salesmanship.
