Love Mclean Hardware. Very friendly helpful people. I can usually find what I need and it saves a trip to Home Depot. I always take my propane tanks there and they help me carry them. You won't find service like that at Home Depot or Lowes.
We are always glad to be able to find simple hardware items at Browns. We save time and gas when we don't have to go all the way to Home Depot. A great asset to the neighborhood and friendly staff.
We love having the Mclean Project for the Arts right in our neighborhood. They support and cultivate the arts in the suburbs. We enjoy the shows at the community center. One of the best things about living in Mclean.
I have spent thousands of dollars over the years at Merrifield. The prices are too high, but the employees are good, well trained. I have had a few plant failures, support post-mortem was poor. So now I only by special plants there - the run of the mill plants and supplies are a better value elsewhere - like Home Depot, Lowes, or smaller nurseries.
Everytime I go to Occoquan I want to stop by and see what the artists are working on. I have purchased several pieces of art. I love the energy and creativity of this coop. Check them out!
We have used I & J window cleaning for years. They send out a crew that cleans in inside and outside of window very quickly. The price is very reasonable. It would take us an entire day to do the job that they do in a hour or so.
We have hired Ayoub rug cleaning for our oriental rugs. They did an nice job, picked up and delivery. Price was fair. You really need to be careful with your rugs, cleaning is critical. They were fairly priced and brought the rugs back on time. We would use them again.

Doug has done a lot of repair and improvement work for me. He replaced my sinks, faucets, toilets, repaired bathroom tile. Most recently he installed a natural stone backsplash in my kitchen - looks FAB. He installed new lighting, crown molding, door knobs, installed a microwave, painted the kitchen. For a very reasonable price my kitchen looks like it's out of a magazine! He can do a wide range of improvements, so I plan on asking him to do my next project too.
