Horrible, horrible experience. We contracted Thomson Horowitz to perform significant renovations at our house early in 2011. The work was originally meant to take approximately four months, but after about a year struggling with Marv we had to get someone else to come in and finish the work. To summarize a long story, we received many phone calls from both the sub contractors and the suppliers that he had not paid them for both services and goods rendered. He continually misled us with regards to when the sub contractors were due to work on the house, and pretty much everything related to the project. Over the course of the year there was much more time where we were waiting for some work to be done at the house rather than having someone working at the house. We decided to terminate his contract after almost no work being completed at the house for the last four months, and we had unfortunately overpaid relative to the work he had completed. In addition to this, he asked us to pay the kitchen company directly (even though we had fully paid him for the kitchen) due to financial difficulties, and provided us a post-dated cheque for this. We were then subsequently told not to cash the cheque due to insufficient funds in the account for the next 3 months, and to date have not been able to cash this cheque.

Approximate cost of services:
$115,000.00
