We had automated smart blinds installed on 4 windows as well as a nice shutter blind on our bathroom window that overlaps with our shower space. Not only was their suggestion for the shutters on the bathroom window certainly the right choice, but they were able to source and install z-wave compatible motorized blinds and get them integrated with my smartthings system as well. We had two particularly unique requests and these guys had no problem getting the job done, on time and without issue. The shutter blinds on the bathroom window look like they were installed in the factory - I'm 100% satisfied with the results.

I called Roomerator looking to get a delivery of a bunch of lumber required to rebuild my roof. Roomerator was able to source all the various lengths of boards and LVLs we needed and deliver them for less than it would have cost me from home depot. As well, my engineer had requested we use a very specific type of wood (S.S. Douglas Fir) for the collar ties and they went well out of their way to source them for me. I'll be using them again when we're ready for another load, the team was extremely helpful and the delivery was excellent.

I used Redbins for part of my 400sqft 2nd floor remodel, the floor was gutted entirely including the roofing (lathe & plaster, flooring, shingles, misc). The invoices say it was over 8 metric tonnes across 4 bins (I still have one invoice incoming) which I think was pretty accurate. Their drop offs were often late in the afternoon, and their pickups were around 6:30am meaning you functionally only get about 5 days out of your week of rental (3pm drop off wednesday, 6:30am pickup wednesday). Twice the driver had to wake me up at 6:30am to move my car as I wasn't expecting the pickup to happen so early. He's just doing his job, but Redbins should have given me a heads up about the timing. I called to extend my last bin rental by a week, but the message didn't make it to their drivers. I gave them late notice which was my fault, but I got confirmation about the extension and the driver was here to pickup the bin anyways. I would have preferred to hear the extension wasn't possible and I would have been able to make other arrangements. Improvements they could make - Give your clients pickup and drop off time windows so we can prep the area for your drivers - Put a drain on the back of your bins to help with water runoff - Make sure you tell your clients the same story you tell your drivers, they work hard for you and shouldn't be in charge of handling customer relations.

I originally called Consumers Energy Management to repair my existing furnace, but I'd been considering upgrading to a tankless combi unit for a while. The technician was more than happy to go over the pros and cons of repairing my existing furnace or swapping out both the furnace and hw heater for a combo unit. His advice was both insightful and impartial, I didn't feel pressured to upgrade at all. Ultimately I decided to go for the upgrade rather than the repair. Within a week they were back installing the new unit and it was up and running that same day. After a month or so the hot water side of the combi unit stopped working, I called CEM and they sent the same technician back that very afternoon for repairs under warranty. No fuss, no troubles, my hot water was back on that evening and it's been working flawlessly since. I'm always a little skeptical of warranty promises but CEM came through with flying colors and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for any new jobs.

I got a few quotes to have a ductless AC installed in my frame house, AtlasCare's wasn't the lowest I got but the impression I got from my first interaction with Gord was that they were the least likely to leave me with a mess on my hands later down the road. I was able to get an install scheduled within 2 weeks, and today the guys arrived on time and ready to go. There was a mixup about being able to install the unit on the side of my house (it looks like a brick house but it's a frame). They were able to figure out a solution quickly, no additional charges and another tech delivered the additional parts so the install time wasn't impacted either. The installers were friendly, tidy, and respectful. Their lines were installed neatly, and quickly. My house is cooling down as I write this, I will certainly be calling them again for any other hvac needs I have in the future. Thanks guys!
