I took a bathroom down to studs and replaced everything in it. Myra and Sons installed new, mold-resistant drywall, touched up the bathroom ceiling, and fixed the ceiling below that had to be ripped open to gain access to the tub plumbing. Sanded to a great, smooth finish, the walls and ceiling were fantastic and took paint very well.
Excellent, fast work with good attention to detail. They installed the plumbing for a bath tub and shower, as well as a toilet and two sinks. Showed up on time, finished within an hour, and the bill was less than the estimate. Excellent service, flawless workmanship.
The owner of this company used to work for several other big roofing companies. He has 20+ years of experience, and has opened his own company. No website, no e-mail, just a cell phone and a Kijiji ad as well as some flyers around the neighbourhood. Decided to give him a call. He was very open to meeting whenever was convenient for me to provide a quote. His pricing was very affordable, especially since we were given a deal when our (attached) neighbours decided to do their roof at the same time. On the day of the job, all the workers arrived early and worked hard the entire day. The finished job looks great. I called him a few days later because there was a tiny bit of water in my attic. He came to my house five minutes later to investigate. The water had leaked in from the old roof though - his job was top notch and air/water-tight.
Window & Patio Door Installation
Precision installed two windows and a sliding glass door for us. They were prompt and professional and did an excellent job. There was some confusion the next time I contacted them about a quote around the "winter" discount, and their prices were a bit higher than some other companies, so I gave another company a shot and ended up being pleased with the service and product. I would still recommend Precision and may contact them in the future as we try and finish replacing all the windows and doors in our house.
When we bought our house, it already had a security system in place. It had been installed by Power Security Systems and was monitored by them. The system seemed to have some issues with Aliant Internet - it would beep at night when it would have trouble contacting "home base." Once we switched to Eastlink, that problem disappeared. But the company were no help with the issue. Their actual office is only open in the morning, so it is often hard to get in touch with them to make appointments, etc. The monitoring is fantastic and very affordable. I am going to be calling them soon to add additional features to our system and will add a new review/update my review then.
Though it was initially one of those "sometime in the afternoon" appointments, I was able to call and get a closer estimate of their arrival around noon that day. The plumber who showed up was incredibly professional, personable, and excellent at his job. He cleared the clogged line, and then also looked at the drains and aerators in every sink. After he was done, all the plumbing in my house was in top shape. Fantastic service. It comes with a fairly high cost, but considering this is the first plumber I have ever had to hire, I felt it was worth the cash.
Super City is a small window and door installer out of Dartmouth. They have replaced ten windows in my house so far, at three separate times, and I will be having them back to replace the last six. They are very easy to deal with, their prices are among the best in the city, they are very professional and yet easy to talk to and get along with. They deal mostly with Gentek windows, very high quality and affordable products.
