For years I searched to find the flowering bush that used to grow outside my mother's bedroom window. I inquired at several places, going over the scent (something like lilacs) and the shape and color of the flower (white with pink, in clusters to form a circular bloom.) No one was able to help me for years. It was a mystery finally solved by the helpful staff at Wyman's Nursery. I now have my verbena and it is thriving. We return to Wyman's for all our gardening needs.

I believe the problem I have with Whitman Wallpaper is with the lighting inside and not the business itself. For a wallpaper/paint store, the lighting was not true inside. I bought a special order border for my daughter's room and had them match paint with swatches. I bought the paint, painted the room, and then got the border a week later. It did not match at all. Of course I had opened the border out of it's seal to make sure, and because of that it was un-returnable. The people were very nice, prices were fine. If you know what you are buying, I'd say go here, but do not trust the in-store lighting for you designing needs.

This store is gorgeous. From the entire train/Playmobile town, to the animated Christmas scenes, to old St. Nick himself, this store out-does any that I have been to in this state for Christmas decorations. The selection is unbelievable, everything is decked out and everything you see on any tree or wall is for sale. There are gifts galore and every imaginable ornament and Christmas light. If you are particular, this is a great place for you. Really, you could not only fully decorate, but do all your shopping at this lovely store. It's only open from Nov. 1 to Jan. 1, so be sure and stop in for the spectacle if nothing else.

$40.00

Items seem to be pricier than elsewhere. I'm sure the cost of all the lavish decorations for the store (and the resulting electric bill) are spread out among the little things you might purchase. Also, I believe you may only make exchanges and not cash returns. Still, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful selection, helpful staff. Maybe it's worth paying a little extra.

Sprague Windows of East Bridgewater put replacement windows in our former home. It was circa 1880 and had windows that were drafty and chipping. The new windows they put in were beautiful, and so functional! Not only that, but this company came in much lower than the larger commercial companies, and the service was incredible. Our new house has windows put in by the builders and they are awful. We did have Sprague encase a stained glass window my husband made in the low e glass and frame it. They were wonderful about it. We've been in this house 7 years and I still--even as I sit here in the chill--miss my old Sprague windows.

Safter's has been in Whitman for close to 90 years. The staff is knowledgeable. They offer such a great selection of fabrics and sewing and crafting supplies- from complex computerized sewing/embroidery machines to cross stitching kits, to the 'gimp' my kids love to use to make key chains. I am not a great seamstress, but I do dabble in crafts and make my kid's Halloween costumes, as well as crocheting. Saftler's more than serves my needs, and would be a wonderful place for anyone interested in fabrics and sewing.

Service can be a little slow, depending on what the customer/staff ratio is that day.
