After living in the Prairies for a few years we have made a habit of having our natural gas furnace inspected annually. After calling a few HVAC contractors and reviewing HomeStar reviews we decided to book with Milani Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. Out appointment was booked for the 8AM to 10AM window and the Milani technician (Raj) showed up at 10AM - he had experienced a very busy morning. He immediately brought in his tools and kneeling pad and went to work, opening up the furnace inspection panels and he was in and out of the house to check intake air, furnace exhaust etc. He went over a number of key points with me, installed some stickers documenting proper shutdown of the furnace and hot water tank, and went through all his findings. All in all, very thorough, professional and organized. I signed off on the paperwork for completion of the furnace tuneup and payment and he was off to the next service appointment. Total service time was just under 1 hour. Overall very pleased with service and the technician and we would use Milani again.

My wife and I last renovated 10 years ago, and our infill house was starting to show wear again and we decided our house needed a refresh. We reviewed Homestars for potential contractors in July / August 2017 and selected four contractors for bids. Of the four contractors we chose Lifestyle Renovations & Construction. Greg’s price quote was reasonable, well itemized as we’d requested, and we appreciated that Greg had asked a number of questions and provided suggestions to achieve our renovation goals. Our original renovation goals were revised significantly however when my wife and I were told our jobs would be eliminated, mine in fall 2017 and my wife’s in mid-2018. Greg worked with us as we reviewed significant changes to our original scope of work and broke the work down into several steps, as we lived in our house throughout the renovation. Work started the second week of November and was completed a week before Christmas. Broken down by floors the work entailed: - Upper floor (all): repaint ceilings, walls, trim, and doors and windows; refinish staircase handrails; trim bedroom doors to fit. - Main floor (all): repaint ceilings, walls, trim, doors and windows; remove and replace tile backsplash from kitchen and buffet backsplash, replace plumbing fixtures in kitchen and bathroom. - Basement (bathroom only): repaint bathroom walls and trim and replace bathroom plumbing fixtures. Greg and his team worked regularly and the work moved along at a planned pace and there was communication throughout the renovation. We are satisfied with the outcome - the work was done on time and on budget, and we would recommend Lifestyle Renovations to others.

We became aware of Tenmore a couple of years ago when they were doing work on the balconies of our older White Rock condo. Compared with many other construction contractors we had dealt with, they were professional, courteous and performed their work on time, with minimum disruption. An older family member also owned a condo in the White Rock area, and when ill health forced their move to a seniors complex, we were asked to list their condo for sale. After 6 months listing their condo with zero offers, we knew that renovation work to the 2 bedroom, 1100 sq ft condo was required to appeal to a broader range of buyers. We contacted Craig at Tenmore and reviewed the condo with him and gave him our ideas and our realtor's ideas for giving the condo a major makeover. The work entailed: - replacing all interior doors (including closet and pocket doors) and door casings, with new painted doors and trim. - removing original rubber baseboard moldings from the unit and installing new wood baseboard moldings and paint. - paint all interior walls. - replace older lights, electrical switch plates and receptacles with new items. Also installation of ceiling light fixtures in the two bedrooms (previously neither bedroom had ceiling light fixtures) - replace vinyl flooring in the laundry room - replace lights, flooring, cabinets, sinks, toilets, countertops, plumbing fixtures in both the main and ensuite bathrooms with new items. The bathtup, shower and tiling were original, but still in good condition so these were not replaced. - complete renovation on the kitchen. This entailed removal of all older kitchen cabinets, plumbing fixtures, appliances, etc. to completely gut the kitchen. New flooring, cabinetry, stainless appliances, sink, dishwasher etc were purchased and installed. - The only reno hiccup involved installation of a microwave above the new range - the selected cabinetry would have placed the microwave too close to the cooking elements for safety, so we had to omit this item. - complete cleaning of the condo after the renovation work was completed. Condo strata councils can be tricky to deal with, but Tenmore kept the council happy, abided with their wishes and we received zero complaints. All the above work was done within less than 2 1/2 months from our initial contact with Tenmore, and the condo was not listed during this period from December 2012 to late February 2013. The work was done within the promised time and within a few % of the original estimate. All family members who viewed the newly renovated condo were impressed by the quality of workmanship, the greatly improved appeal, and the cleanliness of the unit. The condo was put back on the market with higher pricing and within 10 days we had competing offers, and sold it for very close to our listing price. We recovered about 90% of our renovation cost, so we consider the renovation to be money well spent. Based on our experiences to date, we have no reservations with recommending Tenmore and we would definitely use their services again. Mark & Jan

We met Craig from Tenmore Property Services when he was doing deck replacement work for our White Rock condo strata association. We asked him to renovate / update a bathroom for our condo. The quality of painting, tiling, plumbing, trim and electrical work was very good and the selection of materials was a good match for our specifications and budget. The work by Craig's team is superior to other contractors we have used in the recent past and Craig was very professional to deal with. When the job was finished, Craig arranged for our suite to be cleaned. He is a strong communicator, took full ownership of the project and met our timeline and budget.
