I had terrible ice damming on my steep roof and needed the ice cleared before I could install heat strips. When we were booking this company, we asked whether they had WCB coverage. That same day, they arranged for coverage. Very professional and willing to work with the customer. They did a great job on my roof and I was able to get the heating strips up. They did increase their estimate a bit when they saw how much ice was on my roof, but there was LOT of ice, it's a tricky roof, and that is why they call it an "estimate." I don't feel overcharged for what they did. Certainly I saved money by keeping that water from damaging my home.

I live in a 1928 house and I had a leak in a lead pipe so old and massive that they said they'd have to tear out my kitchen to replace it. Seeing the horror on my face, the the plumber said, "We've got a guy who's been around a long time and he's seen these pipes. Let me get him on the phone." He conferred with two or three colleagues, got advice on a little-known way to patch those old pipes, and explained the pros and cons to me in a very clear and honest way. I agreed to go forward and he went out and bought the materials he needed, then left the package and the name of his supplier with me, explaining that, this way, I could do minor follow-up repair if needed without having to call in a plumber. The patch has been holding since last summer, I didn't have to rip out my kitchen, and I loved how willing he was to talk with his colleagues to get a good solution... not to mention his willingness to teach me the process and show me what product he was using. I can't help thinking that a lot of plumbers would have gone after the money and told me there was no alternative to ripping out my kitchen cupboards, ceiling and walls. I'm very grateful.

We had a leak due to an ice dam last January and had damage to two rooms, both walls and flooring. Initially our insurance agent assigned another company, but we asked to them switch to Titan. It took a long time to have the work done--it wasn't finished until August. However, my understanding is that the wait times for contractors were very long due to so many homes having been damaged by the heavy snow last winter, so I don't know that any other company would have been different. We found Titan disorganized, but that's true of every contractor I've dealt with in Edmonton. This was probably due, in part, to the lead person on our job being in Slave Lake for a few months. It was irritating because people would show up at the house and refuse to work, saying another tradesperson had not done some piece of the work that had to be completed first. The next day, that tradesperson would show up and refuse to work because the one from the day before hadn't done something. This happened repeatedly over a few weeks. That said, the lead on our project was generally polite and reasonable and did try to deal with the mix-ups. The people they sent were fairly considerate and seemed experienced. Titan isn't the contractor of my dreams but they're much better than others I've dealt with in Edmonton and I believe they are honest and well-meaning, based on this job and other work they have done for us. I will (and do) recommend them to friends.

The service person sent by Action Furnace was polite and worked quickly. He was careful not to track dirt into the house and was good about not leaving doors open (we have dogs and need to control where they go in the house.) He was installing a furnace-mounted humidifier and we are happy with both the humidifier and his work. We also used Action Furnace last year when our furnace broke down on a very cold winter night. They arrived within a few hours and did a good repair job for a reasonable price.
