Incompetent, Unlicensed, Illegal work
The "firm" $8000 quote for a basement bath reno became over 25k after I had to tear out all of Mike's illegal and not to code plumbing work. He is not licensed to perform plumbing, he has no ticket for this. His work was found to not meet code in 5 significant areas, requiring it all to be torn out and replaced by the Ontario Building Code inspector. Worst, as soon as I questioned his work, he pulled his people from the jobsite, no offer to "make it right" and issued an invoice for 8k more than the full job price, then slapped a lien on the property. Full on lawsuit happening, this guy is a dishonest contractor and not nearly as good as he thinks. Get inspections and ensure he does not exceed his scope as a licensed carpenter. Think of the first ten minutes of every "Holmes on Homes"... Mike/Benchwood represents the "before" it gets done right.

Hello Marshall...I am so sorry you had what sounds like a horrible experience with your contractor. I am a bit confused as to how this review came to us since Benchwood Builders has never done any work for anyone with the name Marshall.
