It pays to go with a well-reviewed company. I'm happy with the service. I found some water in the basement after a heavy downpour so decided to deal with it before it became a bigger problem. I called in for three quotes - from the get-go I had more trust in Canada Waterproofers than in others (one came in cheaper - but was recommending interior waterproofing, it was problematic; the other initially came in with fancy brochures and videos and a higher initial quote - though wanted to match the price). So - no fuss: - Carl initially told me what needed to be done, how much it'd cost - quote was more than competitive with others; then - scheduled the work, crew completed it in good time - patched up some holes found after the dig in the outside wall, installed the pump on the inside, answered any questions I had - Carl was responding promptly for any follow up questions I had - including for pictures of the excavation and after - They provided me with all the paperwork needed to complete a refund from the city for the sump pump - When I had an unrelated (different wall) issue a few months later - came in and gave me advice at no charge (embarrassingly I didn't notice one of the downspouts got dislocated and water accumulated on that wall - so seems reasonable to just deal with that rather than waterproofing the entire wall) Anyways, I'm glad I didn't deal with either one of the competitors - I'd recommend and stick with Canada Waterproofers.

Both Len who I talked with and Adam who completed the actual installation of the new tankless boiler were great to deal with and I believe I did get value for the $$. My old boiler broke, so I had another repairman 'repair' it. After repairing the old boiler still had other issues. Bottom line was - it shouldn't have been repaired but needed replacing. When I called Len after the fiasco he knew the old unit I had and was clear no point tossing more $$ on it, and price he gave me was competitive with other quote I had. I appreciated that Adam, who did the installation, took the time to answer many questions about both my old boiler and the new one, he ensured installation wouldn't dirty up my place, left the work area clean, etc. Bottom line is that the boiler is installed & price was competitive - so that's as expected with any service provider; but the difference is as per the ratings left her by other reviewers as well - the customer service is excellent. I do expect to recommend Tempasure to others if looking for services, and seek their help in maintaining my AC and other related needs as they come up.

Bottom line: I lost $1K with this guy on repairing a unit that I ended up going elsewhere to replace I'm a new home owner, with no experience with boilers or similar repairs. Amit was the first to call me when I posted on home-stars, he was flexible with time to visit so, after quickly checking reviews here (some are not good but overall it seemed fine) I so proceeded with appointment, thinking it'd be some relatively simple repair. The cost of the visit is $175. When he looked at the unit the options were: - fix it for $1K - replace with one with tank for $2.5K - replace with tankless for $4K I chose to fix it. Spent the $1K (it'd be more if paid by credit/hst). He replaced some parts (I'll have to add: my girlfriend was later upset because he walked around in dirty shoes, and used our vacuum cleaner very roughly to clean the machine messing up the extension of a nice vacuum). He told me to monitor pressure of the unit and unfortunately over coming days the pressure was decreasing indicating a leak - at which point he said to give up on it and replace it all together. He'd knock off $500 from the $4K for tankless. The discounted price was very close to a quote I got from another company that has stellar rating so I went with them instead and am happy that I did (review coming up). So Amit will of course respond here that he did right by me, giving me the options and their pros/cons and it was just my own decision that did me in. At crucial point however when I asked him "if this was your place, what would you do?" he was vague enough that I took it repairing the unit was a viable option. Then he supposedly offered me a discount on replacement, but the measly just over $100 wasn't worth it going with second rate service. Can he do the job? Probably (the 'repaired' tank did produce hot water, so if I spent another $500 to address the leak/decreasing pressure maybe it'd work, presumably he could install a new tank as well) Would I go to him again? No (hard/expensive lesson learned here - mixed ratings, mixed results -- talking and dealing with a provider with near 10-star rating showed me the contrast dealing with them vs. Nasa Heating)

We strive to provide customers with recommendations based on the age and condition of the equipment being serviced or repaired. In addition to providing a fast, professional, skilled service , transparency & fairness is very important to us. However, we have to follow the customer's instructions on how they wish to deal with the problem on hand.

This customer was advised NOT to repair the 10 year old "OBSOLETE" Baxi boiler. But, after consulting his partner, he decided to "PARTIALLY" repair the unit. So it was not a surprise that it stopped working. Then he decides to blame us instead of shouldering the responsibility of the decision he made. Too bad.

It will always be someone else's fault.
