Rip off My husband and I went out to Banff and stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. We live in Ontario.We were so impressed with the bed ( had the best night sleeps) we decided to find out where they got them made and was told Halstead. I decided to call and order from them and spoke with Martin the owner.When I hadn't heard from Halsteadin a few weeks I decided to call. The mattress hadn't been started yet. I became agitated ,and they said it would be initiated soon. When it came to paying for the mattress (1795. No box spring) I paid by credit card. They told me they would deliver it to a "depot" in Montreal or Toronto that I could pick it up! I argued that for the price I shouldn't have to go and pick up a mattress, it should be delivered to my door. Well for an extra 275.00 "they could do that because God forbid , they had to arrange for another delivery company to drop it off. The bed I received was NOTHING like the beautiful firm mattress from the hotel. It was a flimsy,pine box, spring mattress, with cheap ugly striped material as a cover! I am 5 feet and can lift it easily on my own.The one in Banff was solid, heavy and covered with beautiful white brocade material. My husband and I together had trouble moving this mattress. Martin" swore it was the same bed. He overcharged me for this Garbage bed plus 275.00 delivery! I had no way of sending it back unless I paid more. Buyer beware with this company. Martin prides himself on his smooth talk. If I lived out there, I would have taken him to court.
