I hired David Buyer to do a home inspection on my first home in March of this year. Their report showed some minor things to be fixed but nothing major and therefore, I went ahead with purchasing the home. Within a couple months of moving in, I found multiple major issues with the home that were overlooked. The biggest issue being a large horizontal crack spanning an entire wall of the basement, costing approx. $20,000 to repair. There were signs of flooding (stains on the carpet) but we were assured there was no issue with water in the basement and the "superficial" cracks on the exterior wall were nothing to be concerned about. When asked about this, I was informed they cannot see the foundation although the wall was bowing in significantly and the crack waa visible next to the breaker panel. Aside from that, we also discovered the roof was improperly insulated causing ice build up on the roof. As well, the conduit leading up to the electrical meter on the side of the house was pulled away to the point of being dangerous. These are now things I now know to look for, but had the inspection done as this is my first home and I wanted the peace of mind and professional assurance the home i bought was safe and in good condition. I am very disappointed in the inspection that was done and would not recommend them.
