3/10

I had a kitchen island custom made. It was sent to us in pieces that took my husband hours to put together. No instructions. Electrical outlet hole too small for plug plate. They mailed another wood plate but the electrical outlet hole was not cut out. The back panel was too big and when I phone the company I spoke to Carol who stated that it would cost another $270 to have someone come to the house and cut the wood to fit and install. She was not helpful but why would she be. She already had our money. She is also quite abrupt with me. How is my husband to finishe this when he is not a carpenter and does not have the tools to do this properly. The installation of the countertops was done very well and the men were very professional. They were contracted to do the work. Great job there. I have other vanities I want built but will not use this company again due to Carol and the service she provided

Approximate cost of services:
$5,000.00

Company Response

Mrs. Coe, Madoc
I am sorry for the missunderstanding. We offer cabinets, "supplied and installed" or "supply only".
Your husband chose supply only and the cabinets and material needed were supplied and delivered to your home.
The electrical box was to be fitted in a drawer front. The drawer front was a 5 piece raised panel which did
not work for the box. The drawer front was then replaced with a slab front to better accomodate the electrical
box.
Back panels comes in two sizes, 48 inches and 96 inches and they are cut to size on site, as are toe kicks, moldings
and fillers. I realize now, that perhaps you thought you were getting a "kit" but than it would not have been a custom island.
For us to have an installer travel to Madoc and install your island at a cost to you of $ 270. is reasonable. Traveling time alone
is 1 hour each way.
I am sorry you were not 100% satisfied.
