We have used the services of Rob and his crew on 3 separate renovations in 2 of our homes. The jobs ranged from custom floating concrete bathroom platforms and integral sinks to 14 foot kitchen counters and a fireplace. Rob is always willing to try something new and new application for this concrete. The final products are beautiful and durable and really make a statement. He is an artist and the products are works of art. Perhaps not always the fastest to return communications and things do seem to run a little behind but as far as I know he is the only guy doing this kind of work and he does a great job at it. Concrete products are in the plans of every future renovation we do and we know we will be calling upon Rob and his crew to do more work for us. Servicing the Greater Toronto Area but I know Rob has done both commercial and residential work in other parts of North America.

We purchased a house with a large indoor pool that needed most of the equipment serviced. Although Gibsan doesn't work on Dry-a-tron units, they were able to take care of all our pool needs. They quotes we got from Jason and the crew were fair, the responses to phone calls and emails was always immediate and to the point. The work that was done was clean and professional as were the workers. A few deficiencies in the work or small things that should have been done differently were dealt with immediately and at no extra costs even though it meant repeat visits to the property. Rarely have I been as impressed with the professionalism, service and meticulous work of a company as I was with Gib-San pools. They may not be the cheapest, but are fair and for the money I got far better service and work than I expected. I won't look elsewhere when it comes time to do more work on the pool.

Company Response

Jeff, Thank you for sharing your experience with the online community! We appreciate the business of great clients like you and take great pride in the level of service we deliver as a premium pool company. Unfortunately the phrase, “you get what you pay for” is all too true in this industry and it’s important we always be looking at the long term solutions, as the short term can and will often cost you more. We hope you enjoy the many years to come in your beautiful home and most importantly the pool! Call us should you require any assistance what so ever!

We hired James and his company to clean our windows, frames and some of the siding on our house. Initially they were pleasant and accommodating to our schedule. Although not inexpensive, the scope of the work they promised to do was beyond that of other quotes we got. We were listing our house for sale and wanted it done right so we didn't mind paying for it. The crew of two showed up as promised and on time. They were polite and got to work. I was surprised that they did not come fully prepared. They were not happy with the nozzle we use on our garden hose, yet didn't come prepared with one they could use and we went out to buy a new one for them to use as they started to work. They left that day without alerting us. We were expecting them back the next day because we didn't think they had finished. They did not return. They did clean the siding in the back, the windows and some of the frames. Other windows and frames did not appear washed (had not rained in a few days). We called the owner to see when they would return and he came by to review the work. He told us that all the work was done as agreed upon and he wanted us to pay him extra $45 for the extra time his workers spent. We explained to him that he was a professional and that it is his job to be able to quote a job properly. If any extra work was required to meet his obligations it is his mistake and responsibility or it is something that needs to be agreed upon up front or for us to at least be made aware of as a possibility. At no point in our discussion of the work or quote was there the mention that there may be extra fees. We never received an invoice or a contract from him. I told him you can't show up and change the terms of the agreement after the fact. It was a very unpleasant interaction. He clearly saw no need to accept any responsibility and was incredulous that we didn't think we should pay him the extra money. He was also defensive of showing up without the proper equipment/nozzles they needed to do the job. After minutes of arguing with him there seemed to be no solution. We just gave him the extra money and told him to leave and that he was no longer welcome on our property. Despite having gotten all the money (including the extra cash) and very clear and direct instructions to leave our house and our property, he did not leave and continued to argue. He did eventually leave. Although I have very strong opinions on the professionalism and integrity shown here, I will let the readers make their own judgements.

Dear Mr. Singh,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

We at JEM strive to do our best and please every customer although sometimes that is not easy to do. A quote is always given prior to the job with the understanding that it can give or take a couple of dollars. We do apologize that this experience was not a positive one for you, and wish you the best in the future.

Thank you.

We had a great experience using Double T about 3 years ago cleaning up a mess and half finished bathroom and bedroom renovation that went terribly wrong. Most contractors wouldn't even quote us on that job. They came through brilliantly. You can see some of the pictures of our bathroom on the Double T site. This project was to gut an entire floor, redo floors ceilings, remove structural walls, put in ceiling supports and install a whole new kitchen. Most of the products were custom. Taras and Terry from Double T did a great job. Always professional, courteous and respectful of our property and time. My only hesitation in recommending them is that they might not be available for our next job if too many people find out about them.
