Roof above an upper deck, approx. 17' x 20'. Remove old shingles, inspect and repair roof decking if necessary, underlayment, and 40-yr new shingle replacement. Flashing to 2 vents and 1 chimney. Marcel Van der Stelt had one helper work with him for 12hrs to complete this job in a very satisfactory manner, including removal of all old materials. The new materials were brought up one flight through the house at the request of the homeowner rather than up a ladder, for safety reasons and convenience. Marcel was professioal, worked quickly and effeciently, was an effective team leader, and was extremely safety concious.

Contract included de-construction of old decking and solid railing off of kitchen on 2nd floor, redesign and replacement of rotted support beams and underlayment, and new alluminum railings and Duradeck. Erik Paterson was a fun, youthful, innovative, and energetic contractor who had a lot of good ideas for improving the design of our deck and other features of the townhouse. He could be slow at times, and by his own admission, very meticulous and perfect well beyond necessary. This resulted in his doing a beautiful job that came in on budjet and slightly over on time. He always answered his cell phone promptly, and was polite and courteous at all times.
