The contractor underbid. He had few workmen, and no regular crew; he ran out of money way early in the project and while we paid him extra the project ground to a crawl; in the end he disapperard early July and did not complete the kitchen, the inside finishing of some baseboards, the painting; as well he never did the siding for the addition or the back of the house. He did not speak with us about why he was going, when he would be back, and he just disappeared. Don't hire him!!!!

- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- Ask the prospective contractor lots of questions about how they would deal with "for instances" where there are unforeseen costs, or project slowdowns.
