I am a person who does thorough market research long before asking a company in for a quote, and prefer to do most installations on my own simply due to the lack of care and attention I usually get from contractors. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lighting market does have some stellar folks, as most of the contractors who gave me quote/ideas were quite detail-oriented. Enter Carrington from OLP. This man takes detail to a whole new level. I had mentioned to him that for my lighting project I wanted to respect the integrity of my facade, keeping it generally mid-century with dim, carefully placed yellow lights. Carrington took this information home and showed up with a Frank Lloyd Wright bollard for our demo. Yeah, that happened. OLP is extremely descriptive, extremely flexible, and extremely responsive. They are also able to fashion their own lighting fixtures should you desire a proper custom look. This service is mostly striking to me as my house required only 1-4 lights in total while Carrington was installing lighting fixtures for 600ft lengths during the same week, and yet somehow made me feel like what I was attempting was important, worthwhile, and worth giving lots of thought and attention to. With all this, OLP's price is also right on par or below market price. In summary--if you're OCD like me... go with OLP. I will be taking my own advice and have them over for my backyard next spring.

Thank you very much for such lovely feedback, Vageesh. Our whole crew very much enjoyed the lighting project, especially with the focus on FLW styling as you mention. Your eye for design and detail was a big help to guide our process, and we very much look forward to working with you again.

I waited a good number of months to write this review, as I wanted experience with other painters before making a judgement call. Rocco is a good guy. He was punctual, worked very quickly, and used good quality paint. He even gave me a nice pasta recipe. I assume I was also punctual in my payments, which is why I did not experience some of the ultra negative experiences here. With that said, the actual quality of his work is questionable, as Rocco does not do any prepwork. He will leave paint drops scattered all over your furniture, and will paint over dust, spiderwebs, hairballs, lumps, you name it. According to him, this prepwork is to be done by you, not him. Which is fair, but it's nice to know this stuff beforehand, not 90% of the way through the job. Personally I hesitate to recommend Rocco, but if you are looking for an insanely quick do-over in an already-prepped area (with no furniture, and flooring that you'll remove later), I'd call him. But at that point, if you've done literally all the dusting/cleaning/taping/prepwork, nothing is stopping you from grabbing a $30 paint can and roller from Home Depot and spending 2 hours doing it on your own.

Shawn was able to initiate and complete the work within a week. Everything was completed punctually with minimal disruption & at an extremely competitive price. The actual work ended up requiring more material than expected due to unseen differences in grade, but Shawn was able to keep the price at our initial agreement. This was extremely important to me and is something I am quite thankful for. The quality of the work was also good, with measurements precise, straight, and levelled. I will monitor the longevity of their work and commitment to minor repairs (I do already see some cracks) over the next few seasons and update this review accordingly.
