Terrible New House buying experience.

Some walk through fixes not completed and blamed on movers, builder very hard to deal with and very non responsive.

First year finds
- 12 new windows required
- Cracked tub repair in main
- Cracked flooring grout in main
- Two HVAC fixes, furnace and thermostat
- Poorly installed laminate flooring, need replacement
- Carpet needs replacing as nails and seams are causing issues
- Roofing holes
- Doors improperly hung
- Improper installation on window in stairwell
- All faucets leak
- Electrical fixes
- Hood fan improperly installed

Second year finds
- Still dealing with most of first year finds
- Siding leak is new

This feeling is echoed more than once in our area. Nice features, poor workmanship.
Please read and re-read everything and make sure you stay on top of any warranty work, do not deal directly with builder only. Ensure you have all your warranty work required, well documented. Copy your New Home Warranty Provider on EVERYTHING. Take pictures on your walk through. Take notes and have your representative acknowledge, do not rely solely on the possession walk through paperwork.

UPDATE 06/22 - Contractors are new and they have advised us on everything that still needs our attention, flooring, painting, carpet, windows, doors etc. They are all really great to work with help deal with my overall dissatisfaction of our new house. As long as the builder is not involved, they limited our questions/concerns with contractors.

Had two independent Window, Door and Siding Professional to come and do assessments as I could not get answers from builder. So much to repair still on this new build house.

I personally, did not like a family member coming into my home asking me to remove my review. I'd like to see the homes that provided 5 star ratings, they must have some quality finishes that I do not. I was treated so poorly and dismissed when I showed concern with this new house. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars for the house, it will cost us more yet. There goes some of our retirement fund...

I wish my personal experience with this builder warranted a 5 star rating as the others. After two years I am finally over the anger and on to being grateful I made it through this experience and for the growth I have made as a person dealing with situations and people I have never encountered before. I find great comfort in knowing I won't ever go through this again. In the end, I am thankful the house can be repaired and that stood up for what was right for myself and my family. It was not worth the purchase of my "money pit",so I can only hope others do not have to lose sleep and time in their life on such a HUGE purchase that results in such a failure.

Thank you to the builder for providing my experience and forcing me how to learn and grow from such a devastating loss of money and time in my life. I still do not have a home, just a really poorly finished house...
