Green Star Appliances Repair

We had a leak in our fridge and I called on Green Star, who have done excellent work for us in the past. The serviceman, Alex, arrived first thing the next day. He quickly figured out the problem, got the part and fixed it. That's two great experiences we've had with Green Star. I would most highly recommend this company.

We called Green Stars to assess a bad, botched non-repair. We were trying to decide whether to just get a new machine. Roman and Aleks worked hard to get to the bottom of our older Maytag's problem and said they could fix it - and they did! We trusted their commitment to living by the quality of their work and were only asked to pay the $79 service fee until it was all done and the washer went through its paces. They prepared us for what might need to be replaced, but in the end not all was necessary. They did only what they had to, and now it works better than it ever did! I fully believe that it will last us quite a bit longer. In addition, we have the security of knowing there is such a reliable repair service to call on.

Roman effectively diagnosed the problem with my 20+ yr old refrigerator as a malfunctioning evaporator fan. Ordered the needed part and returned same day to install. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

I called Roman to fix an electric oven which would no longer turn on. He successfully diagnosed and fixed the issue. He also came when he said he would and called ahead to let me know he was in the neighborhood. He charged a very reasonable amount for services. The majority of the cost was the part that had to be replaced, but he did not mark the price up.

Between booking the appointment and his arrival, I happened to break the door on the dishwasher. He fixed it with a generic flywheel he had and didn't charge for the flywheel. Just the service.

I would definitely call Roman again and in fact will be doing shortly to look at an issue with my fridge.

In summary, Roman was excellent! He approached the problem with steadfast persistence and an unwillingness to leave a dissatisfied customer.

We found Green Star via a Google search. They had an excellent rating and listed our refrigerator's brand as one they service. I called the number and spoke directly with the service technician, Roman. Roman came by the next day. He was a few minutes late, but he did call to say he was running late. On the positive side, Roman arrived with more tools than just a power screwdriver and flashlight! (See hindsight below for context)

After some initial inspection, Roman told us that our fridge had a sealed chilling system and that he would have to install an access valve into the chilling lines to be able to determine the problem. Roman warned us that the issue could turn out to be unrepairable. Still, he would do everything possible to ensure the refrigerator was working correctly or that we knew it was unrepairable. He also explained what other costs could incur and let us decide how to proceed.

We decided to continue, not to get into the details too much other than to say Roman did everything he promised and more. He had a network of others to draw upon if there was an issue with something he didn't have experience with. Ultimately, the refrigerator, which the original technician claimed was unrepairable, is now up and running and has been without issue for three weeks.

Hindsight is 20/20!

I regret to say Green Star was NOT our first call!

There is nothing that bothers me more than wasting money. We have all done it, ordered the wrong thing, selected the wrong place, or ...

We foolishly called the manufacturer, who recommended another firm for the diagnosis and repair. That other firm's technician showed up the next day. Upon seeing the fridge, the technician stated refrigerators, like ours, constantly fail.
After a cursory flashlight inspection and a check of one of the coils for frost, he stated the refrigerator was not repairable. We were baffled, we asked, "Are there other tests you should run?" - "No, this type of refrigerator (multi-zone cooling) tends to fail once they hit a certain age; they develop leaks in the chilling lines that we can't access or repair!" The technician was here for 20 minutes and charged $120. Recommending a company that leaves the customer feeling conned is just one of the reasons the manufacturer's customer service and quality ratings continue to fall.

We refused to accept the ridiculous statements the technician provided as gospel; yes, the fridge could have a leak in a chilling line, which is not repairable, but it takes more than a cursory flashlight check to prove that.

Thankfully we found Green Star!

Alex did an outstanding job. Fast efficient, friendly. Nice guy - attention to detail. Only needed 1 part, instead of the three parts the other service provider was looking to replace. Highly recommended.

Immediate response to my Saturday call. An appointment for Tuesday. Technician arrived on time. Knowledgeable, efficient, and personable; a pleasure to deal with. Corrected the problem. All neat and tidy. Done within 30 minutes. Highly recommend this company.

When our washer broke a year after our warranty expired, I found Green Star and called them based on their glowing reviews. I am so glad we found them. From first call to diagnostic to repair, it was an excellent experience. Prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with. Our technician was Alex, and we couldnt be happier with his knowledge of our machine brand and efficient replacement of the drain pump motor. We are up and running again! I will recommend this company to everyone.
