We are thrilled with the final results of the first floor renovation of our small home.
What started out with a simple desire to have an updated/functional kitchen, turned into quite a large project.
In addition to the installation of a new kitchen, we improved lighting, removed a non-weight baring wall, installed a pony wall, a new powder room, a new fireplace, changed the flooring, removed a patio and repainted walls.
Stephanie is extremely communicative and easy to reach out to by text or phone, always available and no question is silly or unimportant. We found that she had good suggestions but she was also quite happy and open for us to make our own decisions and go with our choices. It was a team effort.
She was flexible and very generous. Loaning us her truck to return excess Ikea cabinets that would not have fit into our vehicle.
Our renovation was a bit challenging the original timeline was 30 days and it took about 50 days. Part of these delays were poor window installation by the windows/door company (Verdun) prior to Stephanies arrival (not Stephanies fault), a mouse problem in the walls as well as an unforeseen four day delay due to weather.
The only thing we did feel could have been a bit better was the cleanliness and the large layer of dust that was on the 2nd floor and basement when the project was done. We understand dust is inevitable perhaps more attention could have been put to properly seal off entrances going upstairs and downstairs. This would not be an issue, we feel, if it was a bathroom/laundry room renovation or a small flooring project etc.,
Important to mention, once you work with Stephanie, you become part of her family. She has been back to our place three times to fix small items that needed attention (flooring and fireplace) and when needed, she has followed up with subcontractor (plumber) to fix a leak within an hour of us notifying her.
