In the summer of 2020, we had José build an outdoor deck for us. He'd been recommended by some friends who had used him in the past.
He came over to view our space and we talked about some ideas and showed him a few pictures we'd found online of what we were looking for. Within a couple of days, he came back with a quote for the work that was comparable to a few other quotes we had received. We liked that he wasn't the most expensive, but we also liked that his quote felt realistic - he wasn't the cheapest either.
Ultimately, we chose to work with José based on his reputation and his ability to respond to all of our questions in a timely manner. In the past, we've felt that some contractors didn't have time to go through this part of the process with us or to answer all of our (admittedly, many) questions.
The work took a few days and throughout the process, José would explain everything that he was doing. The end result is a beautiful space that we are extremely happy with. The construction is solid and also feels warm and inviting. We are excited with how it all turned out and will be looking to use José again in the future on other projects around the house.
(I should add that all of this work was done with José and his team following COVID protocols. They were very respectful about making us feel safe.)
