John helped us find a cost effective solution to recover from a clean water flood in our bathroom. He was quick to respond to our call and came on site. After examining the situation (with infrared and conductivity sensors), he determined that it was fairly minor and common, acknowledging that some homeowners might not even worry about it. As the ceiling below felt wet by hand and had a wet reading from the sensor, we chose to dry it to avoid mold growth inside. With industrial fans and dehumidifiers, the drying process took place over the next few days. John came to check on the progress and confirmed it was working. On the final visit, sensors showed most of the drying were done. This allowed us to avoid the more labour intensive and costly repair, such as removing the sideboard or opening up the ceiling. And it gave us peace of mind regarding mold growth. I am very happy with John's work and would recommand him.

I was given John's name and number from our insurance broker after we called due to a water leak in our basement. John responded immediately with a call and then a visit. He explained what he felt the leak source was (foundation wall leak) and explained the process. He gave an idea of what the cost would be so that we could decide to claim insurance or not. He worked with the insurance company, he is well known and respected by them, and everything was handled without a hitch. John and his crew came in and removed damaged items (floors, etc.), moved other items and stored them in a pod, cleaned, disinfected and used blowers and scrubbers to dry out the areas.

He then gave me 3 company names to call to assess and quote on repairing the foundation leak. (not covered by insurance). After we had the repairs completed, John and his team returned to repair and replace the damaged items (floor, etc.) and then returned our items to their appropriate place.

If you have a leak and need assistance, don't hesitate to call John. He was professional, helpful and took his time to help us understand what to do as we had never had a leak before. John & his team were very careful when handling our things and made sure to respect other areas of the house by using mats to protect stairs and areas walked through.

I dont write reviews often, but when I do its because the community needs to know, John @ SELECT is the man when it comes to insurance claims, emergency services and doing good!

It was Christmas Day morning we discovered a slow leak in our basement. I called a handful of companies I found on Google, Johns team was the only team to call me back the same afternoon and immediately offered me free advice on what to do myself. He didn't need to come same day, so we booked for next day. He arrived himself with all his tools to check for water and mould.

For the last two months, hes been the only person who cares and has been following the details, everything from the emergency work to the things insurance missed in their own estimate of our house.

Hes one of those guys who works for the big insurance companies, they know him, his reputation and his estimates are realistic. He was able to get what we needed to restore the damage from the flood. No disputes, super smooth, I'm super happy.

If it wasn't because of him I wouldn't have noticed the low estimate our insurance company offered at first.

If youre reading this and are looking for someone help you with emergency work and restoration with an insurance claim, talk to John, hell ensure youre doing things by the book, in the right order. Theres a lot of bad folks out there taking shortcuts and taking advantage of customers in an emergency situation, be careful.

John knows a lot about water damage, mould and how to restore things to how they were and he takes care of all the paper work, without any addition fees. He's a do-gooder.

We hired John and his team recently to deal with sewer backup and basement flooding in our Toronto house. To say they exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. Throughout the whole process John was diligent in addressing the multitude of issues that came up and kept us constantly informed. He also kept excellent records and dealt directly with our insurance company to help complete our claim. I gave Select Restoration a call late on a Sunday night when I got a call that a toilet in a bathroom undergoing renovation had leaked over the weekend, flooding one of my bedrooms and its ensuite bathroom. They answered the call quickly, and gave me excellent advice on what I needed to do that night. They arrived early the next morning to start inspection and drying. The staff were pleasant and reassuring. They took the time to give me advice about dealing with my insurance company and my contractor. They gave me a detailed report which outlined the next steps that would need to be taken to mitigate the water damage, clean up the area, and repair the rooms. They were responsive to follow up questions by text and were professional the entire time. I would recommend them whole heartedly and will use them again in an instant if I encounter any future water damage issues.
