Sami started by showing us his credentials - a bonafide engineer. He checked the beams, the floor levels, everything with his tools and ladder. While the minor bouncing may be annoying, he reassured us the structure is sound and no work is required. To remove the bounce he gave us DIY instructions. He was detailed and awesome. Thoroughly professional and highly recommended.

Me and my wife wanted the drop beam removed and replaced with a flush beam to give our basement a more spacious feel. Originally, we didn't believe the column could be removed but boy we were wrong! We had a number of contractors visit our home to price out the project as per our vision. Open Concept was the only contractor to suggest removal of the column to really open up the space and improve the flow. The owner was very knowledgeable and the customer service was exceptional. My wife particularly loves the new space as she likes to do yoga and other aerobic activities while we are locked down due to COVID19. We used Open Concept Engineering & Construction Ltd. to remove a vertical support post in our basement. We wanted a more open concept feel and it was in the way of a future wet bar. We worked with Sami (professional engineer) to determine the necessary work required to remove the post. He was very professional and answered all of our questions prior starting the work. He also provided us with all of the necessary engineering documentation for the structural change. The job went very smoothly, it was completed on time and we are very pleased with the outcome.
