Ternak removed a drop ceiling in my basement and complications dictated that an electrician needed to tidy and alter wires before the new drywalled ceiling could be done. They were prompt in doing the electrical work, the drywalling and the new potlights. They painted the entire basement. They turned up on schedule and stayed until the job was completed and until I was satisfied with the job.
Dale and all his workers were pleasant to deal with.

I have been a customer for 15yrs , I have had all good experiences with Dale , he is easy to work with and he listens to what clients want, producing good quality work in a timely fashion. Ternak are respectable to the neighbours and the neighbourhood.

Dave & Dale work together to under quote their jobs and then Dale force you to pay when the job is underway.
Dave preaches and harks about being better business bureau certified. Complete garbage.

Dave is more worried about complimenting you than quoting the job accurately.

Dale starts the work and then asks for more money daily.

Sleezy and unethical business.

I had a leaky porch, cracked concrete over a basement room.. the best solution was proposed which I latter researched as the better way to solve my problem. the quote was competitive. I had flagstone layed and stairs redone.. once started they came everyday and were focused on the job. the workmanship is great. the materials sourced for the job were top grade, no cheaping out on materials, the concrete work is good, I'm very happy with the result, I would not hesitate to use them again, I'm fully satisfied. I'm a hands on person and know good work and what attention to detail is..

I needed to gut my 2nd floor bathroom, and basement. I called Ternak because they had done a good job on my roof and deck. I wasn't disappointed. The end result for both was excellent. All throughout, Dale, the project manager, kept in touch with me and helped me through unexpected challenges, which were many in a 105 year old house. Sandro and Michael, the main contractors, were diligent, hardworking, and extremely skilled tradesmen with an eye for design. Very friendly, and thorough. I plan to use Ternak again for all remaining work on my house in the future.

This company was terrible for me. I hired them to do two things:

1) - insulate the lower portion of an entrance stairwell.
2) - soundproof the upper portion of the same entrance stairwell.

They insulated okay, but it turns out they had no expertise in soundproofing - they used cheap/lighweight drywall, which, it turns out, is not permitted because it's a shared wall. Also, the soundproofing is worse than before they did anything. They told me they knew what they were doing, which was false. Don't believe me, believe the contractors I have had come and review the work. They all say I got ripped off.

Long story short - I have to get their work completely redone.

Aggressive selling techniques, coupled with poor budgeting skills. The project was over budget because some key materials were not accounted for from the get-go. Overall, the bathroom renovation was handled poorly on account of Ternak over promising and under delivering. Would not recommend.

They did a great job fixing my woodpecker-damaged stucco, repairing the porch stone work, and building and installing railings to match my existing ones. They finished on time and within budget, and exceeded expectations when it came to the railing design.
