Stay Away! Found black mold during my PDI. They kept my deposit and defaulted me for not taking possession! The owners Diane & Greg are nothing but dishonest, along with their site super Steve! Ask any neighbour that's taken possession at the Penetanguishene Site Location and you will hear the truth!
They defaulted me for not taking possession, when my new build had black mold inside and they denied it - after their site super Steve had his contractors replace it after I left my PDI, but I have evidence via photos and videos (on top of other issues such as the house not being completed and incorrect model style).
My lawyers respectfully requested my deposit back and they denied me it (I had sold m primary residence and to be put in this position by this builder). So now, the legal battle will continue.. It's a shame I put trust and faith in this company and they run away with peoples deposits and homes (at least fix the issues, which till this day they have not and currently using my house as storage and allowing their contractors to sleep in it). Beware people - I'm working on getting this case to the news media.
They should do the right thing and give someones deposit back if they did not meet their end of the bargain. Diane & Greg, you need to swallow your pride and do what's right. Based on your reviews - it's not looking good for you in the long run.
Batavia homes have delayed the home closing over 3 months with little notice. it's been 1.5 years of delays at least....and viewed the site today and still no home built. I am already dreading what's next....this review is to be continued... Batavia homes need to get their act together. learn professionalism and customer service. There is a huge lack of reliability. If your delaying a closing you need to give at least 1 or 2 months notice at least 6 weeks notice to make sure that person can find suitable housing until their house is built.
You may want to rethink if you're looking into BATAVIA HOMES homes...
I took possession of the house April 2018 with many things left unfinished (typical for new build). My issue is not with the kitchen tile incomplete or the hardwood flooring incomplete or even a $5500 upgrade which was COMPLETELY missed. My issue is the constant fight I have to put up to get it fixed properly.
The Shower ...oh the Shower ! The missing $3500 upgrade, which would cost maybe $1500 if I had someone outside of the builder do it, was a complete NIGHTMARE. Our shower has a major leak and mould has been found , this is the second time we've had a problem with the shower. Currently waiting for shower to be ripped out . Hopefully the job will be done properly this time by someone who is competent . Legal action may be required
Worst customer experience ever from a Batavia Homes LTD builder - Closing was delayed 3 times, the last delay was within 10 days of closing. Screwed up my financing completely. The bank had to extend the mortgage commitment twice. We had a slight delay in funding the mortgage - the funds came in late in the afternoon of the closing date. Our lawyer asked for a delay of 1-2 days to close, and we were shocked when the response from the builder was: you have to close today or your client will lose their deposit and home!!! our lawyer has never seen a response like this from any builder and he does hundreds of closings. Such disregard to the customer should never be tolerated by anyone! they are the ones who created the problem by delaying the closing and they threatened us to take the house from under us in the 11th hour and keep our deposit. not to mention 87 defects on the PDI list! very sloppy workmanship. I would advise to anyone to stay away from this builder and look elsewhere to a company that treats the customer with some respect.
We have upgrade the Fire Place with this builder but they did installed the fire place after two month closing date. But the Fire place didn’t work till now. I have called the builder and spoke to Lynn(customer service) she is very rude and didn’t give me the proper answer .we have spend $6900.00 for fire place upgrade. This is the garbage builder in my life I have seen.
Towel holder and paper holder did not installed by builder ( we bought our self and installed it)
Garage door and Garage opener was installed (upgrade) by builder but we never ever get our remote controller and Key pad from the builder. When we called the builder or send an email to Lynn Denney (customer services rep) she never respond my email or voice mail
We have upgraded maple hardwood staircase with builder (Spend $ 6900.00 and Stain for Staircase 1650.00 they did a crappy job to staircase. Our Maple stair case they installed OAK trimmed to edges. What kind of the builder will installed incompatible work. Garbage work man ship all over the house.
Finally, dealing with the customer service reps has been painful.They are extremely rude and have no idea what customer service means ( Lynn and Dianne should go to school and learn the manners and how to speak to the customers.)
Whoever bought the house from this builder in LINDSAY please go to Tarion website and make a complained to them (https://tarion.com/contact/submit_complaint )
