The owner of this business (known as Guri / Gurvinder) is very dishonest, unreliable and has poor-quality workmanship. He will provide you with a very good quote to lure you in compared to other contractors along with false promises as to when he would get the job done. He promised to complete the job within 3 to 4 days but took well over a month-and-a-half.

I hired him sometime in May of 2023 and he asked for an advance payment of 50% on the first day that he starts work and the remainder was to be paid once the job was done.

He was paid according to our agreement on the first day. However, he did not work on the site himself but he had hired some unskilled workers (likely international students) to do the work. It was evident towards the end that he is also not skilled himself in carrying out concrete jobs (see pictures). Neither he or his employees showed-up again until multiple calls were made. He always had an excuse not to show-up including that it was raining where he was, his tools were removed unauthorized from his vehicle where he parked it overnight, van broke down etc. He is very hard to get a hold of. Doesnt reply to calls or texts once the initial payment is made.

His work is very shoddy and of unprofessional quality. He was eventually paid the entire amount prior to the job being completed as he was always crying that he needed to pay employees and claimed that he had nothing to eat etc.

Unfortunately, due to the final poor-quality job that he did I had to hire someone else for thousands of dollars more to redo everything practically from scratch.

Save yourself the headache and money and hire someone else

Guri took the month to finish my concrete job (backyard, side and front). He asked for 50% at beginning and another 50% when concrete was poured.

This was a terrible job. There was so many cracks, the concrete was uneven, and the stairs looked terrible. Guri stopped picking up my calls or returning my messages. One of the worst contractors I have ever hired. I am now stuck with a terrible job and have no other options, other then breaking and starting from scratch.

Stay away and dont book!!!

I paid Guri (Gurvinder) $150 deposit to do my front porch concrete work, he said they will finish work before end of July, they didn't came for over a month, I called many times and the person doesn't pickup phone, everrytime he mentioned with message he will do this week but never came. I asked to return my deposit and the person still hasn't return my money. Will never ever recommend Rock & wood construction or Guri or Gurvinder to anyone.
