When we finally decided to start our sunroom addition, we interviewed seven different contractors. Matt from Reno-Art Contracting Inc. responded in a timely manner. He looked at the architectural drawings and gave us a fair and competitive quote. During our first meeting, he listened and understood our concerns, but most of all our vision. From the beginning we felt comfortable with him and that he was trustworthy.
The construction was a challenge because it was on the second floor and was a unique architectural design. We wanted the addition to look as though it was part of the original custom built homehome.
As with many construction/addition projects, there will be some unexpected surprises because of existing construction. Our project was no exception. Matt was able to solve the issue with the architect and engineer. Structural engineering of the floor had to be revised to accommodate the loads and to meet code. This involved tying in new joists and removing the newly drywalled kitchen ceiling from a newly renovated kitchen. Matt and his team completed the structural changes in a timely manner including redrywalling and painting the kitchen ceiling, which was not part of the original contract without charge.
The electrical crew's expertise in installing pot lights, outlets, ceiling fan, HVAC electrical, and the electrical setup for our electric fireplace was truly remarkable. The color pallette for the room was changed after the initial coat. Matt purchased new paint and completed the painting at no additional fee. The window designs were were unique and Matt found the right window company to custom build them in four weeks.
From the initial consultation to the final installation, their professionalism and attention to detail were evident. The team's knowledge and skill ensured that every aspect from electrical work, framing, drywalling, painting, flooring, window installation, roofing, stucco cement and brickwork were executed flawlessly. Matt addressed all our concerns and explained every step of the installation in detail. He responded immediately to any texts or phone calls. Our sunroom now feels like a cozy, well-lit oasis, thanks to their outstanding craftsmanship. We highly recommend their services to anyone seeking top-notch work at a reasonable and fair price.

We worked with Reno-art on a fairly extensive reno of our home including an addition, new HVAQ, full renovation of the basement and second floor. Overall, the team was really great to work with despite some surprises along the way due to the age of the house. What stood out most was the attention to detail from start to finish and Matt ongoing support even after the project was fully completed. We also really appreciated Jane help with the design aspect and walking us through the selection process for all the finishings. Part of the project involved a new ensuite and we could not be happier with how it came together.ken our site manager, always seemed on top of everything with clear explanation and updates. Our project took longer than expected but again, the scope changed along the way and permits are largely out of their hands. Lastly, they were quick to address any issues brought up by our neighbors and the project ran very smoothly! Overall, a great team to work with.

I had an amazing experience with Renoartcontracting. They completely renovated my kitchen, including removing old cabinets and appliances, demolishing a wall, redoing the electrical wiring, drywall, ceiling, floor, painting, installing lights, and everything else necessary. Hardworking, professional, punctual, organized, helpful, and also have a great sense of humor. They finished before the expected time, and it was a pleasure to have them work on my house. Our experience with Matt (Mehmet) and Reno-Art has been a nightmare. Our BBB complaint contains more details and I urge anyone quoted by him to read our BBB complaint. The amount of poor workmanship, undelivered promises and unlicensed wiring in our home is staggering. Matt sold us on his ability to complete a fairly standard 5 week renovation in our home, and we agreed to vacate while he worked. Knowing that we were away, Matt took advantage of the situation whilst busy on other jobs and hired the cheapest labour he could find to try and push our project along. We gave him an extra 2 weeks (total 7 weeks vacated) and he stated that the home would be 90% complete upon our return. The day we came home all of the walls were still wet from their first coat of paint, our furnace was broken, there was damage riddled throughout the home, the wrong flooring was installed, live wiring was exposed and uncapped on all 3 floors of the house, no cabinets were installed, only half of the pot lights we had agreed to were installed, trim and baseboards were unfinished, none of the additional lighting was complete and dirt and debris was riddled everywhere. It was apparent that we had been completely taken advantage of. At best 40% of our job had been completed (not 90% as he had stated) and the workmanship completed was extremely poor and amateur. Incorrect flooring was installed (colour, type and size), paint work was substandard, our floors were not leveled prior to hardwood installation, wiring was completed by unlicensed personnel resulting in a fire, his painters spilled paint all throughout our furniture and floor, he failed to turn off our furnace and let it freeze over destroying the internal fan and computer and this is just a few of dozens of issues we came home to. We immediately (within an hour of returning) made him aware of the deficiencies, and notably the furnace. Instead of hiring an HVAC specialist, he simply shut the power to it and let it thaw, destroying our basement flooring overnight. When noting other parts of the home that were damaged, like massive dents in the front door and scratches on new furniture, he stated that these things happen during a renovation and we should live with it. He refused to repair the door, and instead, painted it, changing its colour and finish and leaving it looking like a grade school art project. We have over 70 items where this contractor either damaged property or left us with incomplete work. He takes zero responsibility and when asked if he will fix our damaged items, his response is that they break on their own and are just old pieces that were on their way out anyways. He promised that our job would be insured, yet he could not find the insurance documents that had us listed as loss payees, which is what he stated he would do in our contract. Matts response to this post will likely be that we have not paid his bill, which is abhorrently false. We stopped paying after $77,500 in payments was made (75% of his quoted invoice). These payments were made in tranches, (and blindly) while we were away, under the false pretense that work was being completed and certain milestones had been reached. We trusted Matt and he took complete advantage of our family. We stopped payments after our Cabinet contractor refused to deliver cabinets because Matt allocated the deposit monies to himself for his travel to repair his shoddy work, rather than pay the vendor. We are currently seeking damages against him. He promised us quality work when his intention was to complete the job as quickly and inexpensively as possible, without qualified professionals, and only do a fraction of what he originally committed to. Find another contractor to handle your job.

I would like to take this time to thank Matt and his team at Reno-Art. My family and I are extremely happy with the timelines, budget and workmanship that was provided. We completed a three floor renovation that included kitchen, bathrooms, ceilings, floors, staircase, lighting and media feature walls, as well as basement finishing. Matt was always prompt to answer any call or willing to meet to review any project related questions. We are extremely grateful to choose Reno-Art contracting for one of the most important projects. After attempting to find a contractor for over a year Matt from Reno Art was our lucky number 9. It took some time for us to find a contractor but it was well worth the wait. Matt started out as our contractor but quickly became a friend. He worked six days a week for two months to complete a full two floor renovation which included, flooring, tiling, flat ceilings, pot lights, kitchen, three bathrooms, 2 media walls, door and trim installation, painting, stairs, laundry room. Not only is his work ethic unmatched but his responsiveness throughout the process is something no other contractor provides. He will always answer his phone and when the call is missed it’s promptly returned. I can tell you I have never experienced this with a contractor. He delivers on a budget and truly cares about his clients. I can guarantee you will save money and complete your project in a reasonable time and make a friend if you choose Matt and Reno Art. Reno-Art turned my house into a home. They were able to deliver the project on time and within budget. My overall experience working with Reno-Art is that the company met all the renovation requirements. The owner personally worked with me to ensure the requirements are met and advise on any major challenges in the house if there are any.
