John with JRD has serviced both my outdoor hottub and indoor swim-spa on multiple occasions. JRD is based over 100km away from where these are located, and they are still more reasonably priced than going with a local service. More importantly, however, John is the oracle of all things spas. Owning spas at different properties, I found John after posting on Reddit asking for a service that seems to know what's going on as multiple services had purported to fix issues without the underlying cause being addressed. Someone posted that I needed to contact John, and after doing so, I have never used another service again.
On the first occasion John came out, he diagnosed the tub as having multiple small leaks, and sold me a $45 chemical sealant on the spot that bought us 2 more years with the old tub, when the local services (two separate ones) had proposed a 4-figure "fix" that likely would not have worked, or a new tub.
I recently called John back as our old tub is on it's last legs and he advised against further fixing, as he felt it would just continue to have issues and instead of charging us more, said we may be better off buying a new spa and gave us recommendations.
I have recommended JRD to friends, and everyone instantly recognizes that this is the best company to deal with. Spas and spa repair is an opaque industry overall, but John is such a pleasure to deal with, that we will never use another company again.
As an aside I understand JRD also services the facilities of the local pro sports team. Thank you JRD for the honest and amazing work.
