Recently changed the flooring for our living room and stairs. I have to say that the service we received was very professional and efficient. Allen and his team was able to overcome some obstacles as we have an old house and the dimensions are quite odd. However, this project was completed efficiently and my family and I are very happy with the result.
I definitely would recommend them as it was recommended to my by a friend.

We bought a house this year and we wanted a huge transformation at the house. I wanted an open space as much as possible and the team of General Flooring made it happen. Allen and the crew at General Flooring Canada were fantastic and went above and beyond our expectations.

At the beginning of our project, Allen and the in-store team were patient and great at answering our questions and guiding us on what products were appropriate for our needs. During the quoting stage, GFC was very transparent and provided a detailed quote to allow us to make an informed decision (not all competitors were as willing). They were also very willing to work with us on fair pricing.

GFC was also great at being flexible. When our materials were delayed through no fault of theirs (we had sourced the product), they were able to re-work their schedule and fit us in with minimal impact to us.

The crew that did the installation was also fantastic. They were professional, incredibly hard working and did a flawless job. The quality is second to none. Perhaps the most important factor was also when a few hiccups occurred during the project, as they inevitably will, the crew quickly identified and resolved the issues with abosulely no input required from us. Their dedicationt to completely satisfying the customer was very apparent and appreciated.

I'll spend more time on a more thorough review later, but for now. Buyer beware, this company has awful customer service. They stand heavily behind the quality of their product but unfortunately can't do the same for their service. The installation is what ruined our tiles in less than 1 year and after. After being mislead and strung along for months, they finally came to fix the problems. I had to buy another pack of tiles and was told that I'd bought the last pack on existence so if something happens to my floors in the future, too bad.

As soon as the installer left, the problems came back.

After harassing them for 2 weeks and indicating that I would give them a bad review, they very quickly sent their GM to my house so he could spend time finding every excuse for why it's not their fault this is happening and they shouldn't spend their resources to ensure it doesn't happen again.

DON'T BUY FLOORS HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

The price of the hardwood was very reasonable but the installation was terrible and the company's response to my concerns was even worse. The installers were not professional and left dents throughout all the hardwood they installed (see pictures). I suspect the machine they used to cut the hardwood left these marks. They finished the job in the evening and it was dark and I didn't notice the marks. Painters arrived the next morning and put tarps all over the floors. I didn't notice all the marks until the painters left. I advised the company and they said I approved the job when the installers left and they would not do anything.

General flooring company provided me a great work. It was a quite big project including removal of existing old tile and wood floors, installing engineered hardwood + tile for about 2000 sqft, and sanding and refinishing stairs.
They had a large group that worked quite fast and were able to finish everything on-time in about 14 days. They usually work from 9am to 7pm and sometimes more including Saturdays. The most important part was that they were able to finish on time. The reason is that I had everything based on the initial time estimate including another group for renovation, moving company, my condo elevator, ect. and any delay could mess all arrangements.
The quality of their job is great and the price is also very good. More importantly they stand by their service and if there is any concern they address to the customers satisfaction. For instance, after they finished we noticed the hand-railing of the stairs is loose. They accepted and fixed the issue ASAP.
Before I hire them I spend a lot of time to search for the best company to do the flooring and I finally chose the General Flooring. I am extremely happy for my choice and will recommend them to my friends if they needed. Way to go and keep up your great service.

First off, no one asked us to write this review. I met with three different companies, and we chose General Flooring. Zoe was a big help throughout, as the office manager. She explained everything in a friendly manner and was transparent and professional! Communication was really great with everyone. The workers were punctual, hard-working and extremely diligent. They got the job done (the upstairs of our larger semi-detached East York home) in two longish days. We installed engineered hardwood. Cutting was done outdoors and dust minimized. Clean up was perfect. I would not hesitate to employ this company again for further work and highly recommend them!

I contacted the company when I’ve yet to move in to the new house so all the work was done remotely by communicating with the general manger and I couldn’t be more happier with the result of their work.
I compared with a few different flooring companies and I find General flooring’s price to be very competitive.
Great experience over all and highly recommended!
