High Pressure sales tactic, no mention of 8 yr contract

BEWARE!!! I was pressured into signing up in July 2016. Salesperson did not mention anything about the 8 yr. term of the contract. I do remember him mentioning that they would install it for free (I subsequently learned that by selecting that option I agreed to the 8 yr term). I'm trying to get out of it but they say I need to pay $600 and a $190 removal fee. I already had it removed when I installed a new water softener. Still dealing with them. Very misleading and high pressure sales tactics.

Do not get pressured into their high pressure slaes tactic.

Salesman saying I could cancel anytime. Complete deception

Beware. This company allows the salesman to deceive and say whatever they want to gain your trust to buy their product. The salesman told me it was 3 years but was able to cancel anytime without penalty. After a couple years I called to cancel and they told me I was unable to unless I paid a huge penalty. I tried following up to only to keep getting the same answer. I would never have signed up for an 8 year contract. This is A company I will never recommend to anyone

Bad water softner

Worst company I have ever dealt with, they came to my house and start convincing me how good is the system and they never mentioned 8 years contract, be careful when signing any agreement with them, they trick you. Worst customer service ever.

Water Filtration System -

On May 13, 2016, a Home Water Sales rep came to my door, offed a whole home water filtration system and all the benefits, one being the skin improvements for my eczema...signed me up.....BIG MISTAKE...I was lead to believe this was a government program administered through Enbridge. No strings attached. July 22, 2019 I requested to cancel and was surprised when they said it would be $790 plus taxes. They provided me a copy of my contract whit an X in the section stating an 8-year contract term. I asked if we were looking at the same document. I strongly disagreed that there was an 8 term to no avail.

January 2020 I transferred my Enbridge utility bill to my tenants. Home water was unable to bill the new tenants. They were also unable to provide me a bill. In March 2020 they sent me a notice indicating I was 3 months past due. I contacted Home Water right away. I requested a bill outlining my monthly charges and payment options. The rep said the only payment option was automatic withdrawals from my visa. They also said they do not send out monthly bills. I expressed this was an issue for me. They promised they would send a monthly bill. I complied went into the link provided a one-time payment for the past due notice using my visa card. I noticed I hadn't received any billing from Home Water for a few months. My credit card expired July 2020. Shortly after I started receiving notification that they attempted unauthorized payments from my visa.

In January 2021 I received a call and an email saying I was past due. At this point, I realized something was not right. I requested they provide me detailed bills for each month including GST/HST number. After daily conversations and emails, they sent a bill addressed to someone else, with no GST/HST number and, the charges for one month was completely different from all the previous months. In our many conversations, they have not been able to verbally provide an HST number or a clear understanding of my monthly charges and how they came up with the outstanding balance. This year I will not be able to claim my tax deductions for this rental property. For 3 months they have called me every day sometimes twice a day. If I don’t answer they leave a voice mail. They also follow up with an email. Every time they call I answer and ask for a proper bill with GST/HST details. They promise to send it, they don’t then they call back the next day and we repeat this multiple times per week. There's nothing ethical about HomeWater company.

Buyer beware of the following when doing business with Home Water.
1. Miss representation.
2. 8-year contract I didn't sign up for.
3. Retaining Credit Card Information and processing unauthorized payments
4. Refusing to provide adequate billing including tax particulars.
5. Consisted Harassment and threats to send me to a collection agency

Sweet talkers looking for a pay out

We were pressured from a door salesman in 2017. Forced his way in my rental. I said many times I don't want it, I have a hard time with confrontation. Smooth talked into a contract. Wasn't showed the contract except where to sign. Wasn't left any contact info. I couldn't find them online at the time. I was told try for 30 days and cancel anytime. They will not let me cancel without paying $300+. I just want this thing gone. This system has caused so much damage to under my counters. I've tried getting in touch with them and the only thing they could offer is a new system, (with a fee to install, which I declined) and a $5 discount. Do not fall for their alternate truth. You are locked into a contract until you get a lawyer, and the system doesn't work as advertised. It may also cause damage. Beware.

GARBAGE PRODUCT JUST HUSTLING MONEY DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME

We were pressured by their door to door sales people, were told no fee to cancel and to get it uninstalled call a local plumber to get it uninstalled and avoid 200 fee. Fast forward water sucks, not enough for our household..I called to cancel only to find out apparently all that bull they told me while here didn’t stick. I was locked into a contract for 5 years had to pay to buyout and they would come take the system away...when it came time to cancel I had to pay 400 for two systems, was told they would credit 30$ for the month they billed me..then was told no they would not and no one is coming to uninstall unless I pay an additional 300

Terrible service and worst customer service

Please be careful with home water they install the water purifier on our basment and after 5 years was up they were still taking payment of of our account and not only that after we sold the house and been advise that new owner is taking over and everything we did everything on our end home Water still had our bank account attached to the new owner name! So please look in to it they are very misleading and like I said very poor customer service!

specialized in purifying your pockets from the money without any right, great accountant team in overcharging without any right , and very poor customer service

Three contenious overcharging bills , though many mails and calls, ignoring all your rights, and reservining theirs only,
first payment 19.9 the bill was 50 second the same and third was 70 !

WORST COMPANY TO DEALT WITH!!

Don't get trapped this is money making company!!
Can you believe that I was charged 3 times for one account (Service) from this useless company!!
Yes we started with them with the basic filtration in our home with an agreement of upgradation to our new home what we bought in another location after 3 months.
Setting up a new account was easy for them but despite returning of the equipment from the old home which was done by Home water team, I was continuously charged from Enbridge, and 2 payments from my TD until after 18 months when I noticed and blocked the payments.
I had to call Home water with no luck to fix this issue and return payments!! Only resolution was given to pay for the more money or else cancellation of the account was more than 900 dollars. I felt helpless and ripped off. Please don’t do business with this company ever.I am planning to go to consumer court for justice.

Nice people to deal with

Very respectable sales girl came to the door super friendly. Also the technician that did the install was super friendly and respectable. I was not sure about the system but they said i can try it out for 10 days, and as long as i cancel before that i would not get charged. I got the full system water purifier and softener. But I did not notice too much of a difference in water quality (ppm) and i realized after that the system is a water conditioner and not a water softer (both has their advantages and disadvantages). The system did not meet my needs, but i'm sure it might meet other peoples needs. And yes there was a credit check hit, but they let you know up front. I cancelled the system and praise God the cancellation was smooth without much hassle, again a super nice technician came and removed the system. and Put everything back nicely. Again, was not for me, but seems like a nice company to deal with, i'm sure it will work for some people. I would give a higher recommendation score if I kept the product.
