Highly recommend Doug. He was here everyday when he said he would be. Great workmanship and respectful of our home. A messy job but Doug always cleaned up after each day. Very pleased with the result.

DIY gone wrong so reached out to Doug. He is both professional and pleasant to deal with. Went up in the attic - rejoined the vent pipe, installed a new fan with light and replaced the bathroom taps. Our taps were seized on however no extra charge even though it added 45 minutes to the job. Also took off the bathroom tub spout so we could clean it and reinstalled so we have a full functioning bathroom again! Overall would highly recommend and utilize again.

They called within seconds of my submission and showed up exactly within the window that was promised. What I though to be "just a leak" took like 5 days to finish. They were patient in doing the work properly (like waiting for dry wall to dry before painting over it).

Overall, extremely satisfied. Will definitely call again for more work and recommend to others.

Normally I do the painting on my own, however I hurt my shoulder and had to hire a contracter to get the job done for our deadline!

My wife found Doug in Home star based on the reviews she read on this website. Doug is a very friendly guy but his quality of work and his price and time management is not what you are hoping for!
We wanted him to do a complete renovation on my father in law in Keswick (3 bedrooms bungalow, 700 sqf),I have attached the pictures of his work and you will be the judge. I would take my renovations somewhere else If I were you!
Flooring: he failed to level it properly, he installed the laminate direction wrong.
Kitchen: I don’t think he ever did the kitchen cabinet before, we gave him a kitchen plan and at the end, the vinyl floor is ended up in to the living room!!(please look at the pictures) when he was asked why, he said the cabinet size were wrong (he was told to use filler panel. The kitchen supposed to be 10 ft long but at the end up being 9 feet!!! I had to get another floor contractor to fix the floor!
The counter top does not level with the panel below (please see pictures).

They used nailed gun from outside of the shining kitchen panel instead of using the screw from inside!
He quoted us with a sq quarter round (which is more modern for a newer renovations) but at the end he used the round quarter round!
There is no finish caulking to cover the nail gun on the quarter rounds around the house. (it shows very poor quality).
When he gave us a quote originally, he said he had a couple of Polish tilers and they will tile the bathroom in a day or two. He was doing the tiling himself for 10 days! And at the end one tile was lose ( he fixed it after I told him) and now another tile is moving!!
There are paint drips everywhere (pictures)
The list can go on and on.
Doug’s quote was higher than other quotations we received, and we thought we will get a quality work in a timely manner, but instead everything went wrong.
Please do your research before you give your project to an unknown contractor.
By the way the cost is only labour, we have provide the materials.

After renovation work on two full bathrooms, kitchen and powder room was completed , during warranty period, contractor was advised of two issues one of which he would have been aware of during installation. He promised to attend and repair.
He has still not done so 8 months later and no longer responds to messages.
