Hired to remove garage pad and driveway and prepare space for new pour of same. Removal uneventful and satisfactory.
Garage pad forms required remedy 3 times before pour due to measurement errors. Final pour was not squared (side walls measured 23'11" and 24'1") but told this is acceptable variance. Floor of garage has multiple sites of pooling, despite promise of 2% grade to facilitate water drainage. Garage door opening not correct, required personal rental of concrete cutter to remedy at additional expense.
When discussion of lack of satisfaction for garage pad ensued, contractor offered to refund cost of driveway. We had been offered 10% discount if prepaid for services. (note business is a licensed prepaid contract holder). Refund amount less than what paid according to contract. Upon questioning of this, contractor had rescinded 10% discount and increased cost of garage pad pour (without providing appropriate notice of cost change as outlined in contract. Have been waiting for our refund for 2 months. Contractor would not reply to additional attempts to discuss or resolve issue. Referred to lawyer to settle, but requested the agreement to 'not discuss our business experience with them" which violates Consumer Protection Act.

In 2017, McCormick renovated most of the main level of our 1960’s home, including kitchen, dining, living, foyer, new stairs/rails to second storey, new pantry, and a resized and renovated powder room. In addition, they added wainscoting throughout, new interior doors (including pocket doors) and a heated marble tile floor in the powder room. The project involved a complete gut of the kitchen and removal of the wall between it and the dining room.

We are very pleased with the quality of the work. The invoicing was transparent and, other than changes made by us to the scope of the project, the budget was maintained. Sub trades were excellent. Everyone involved demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence throughout the project. Of the three homes we have renovated this was, by far, the largest single project we undertook. We will definitely work with McCormick again on future projects.

Our insurance agent recommended McCormick General Construction when she learned that we were planning to complete some home renovation projects. Several companies reviewed our project and submitted bids, but McCormick General Construction offered the best value.

The work done was very good quality; the expertise in planning, demolition, framing, and finish work was evident in the final products.

Where this company really impressed was their commitment to excellence, outstanding communication, attention to detail, and willingness to stand behind their product. At no time did we ever doubt their integrity or sincerity. Other contractors could learn a lesson from this one about the importance of these qualities.
