WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

Worst experience ever! The job was done half-ass! We hired Alex (claims to be the owner) to take down and remount 3 televisions we paid $943.00 only to be preached to the entire time about how the last people did such a horrible job mounting the TVs (the geek squad previously did our tv mounting in the past and we never had a problem.... they were unfortunately unavailable this weekend of our move) it is extremely unprofessional to bad mouth another company to attempt to upsell us on new wall mounts and stands. Then when we turned down buying new mounts and stands we were continuously lectured on how they are garbage ( all of our mounts and stands were purchased from the Sony store brand new and professionally installed... so another money making gimmick of Alex’s) then we had Rogers come in to hook up our cable .. Alex had wired the TVs and said Rogers had nothing to do but program our remotes. We paid him by cheque, he rolled his eyes and said “don’t you have a credit card” when I explained that it was confirmed the payment would be by cheque he agreed he stood there and totalled the numbers, taxes and fees and gave me the full amount owing I wrote the cheque and he left. A half hour later he comes back and without knocking walks right in my home while I was on an important phone call yelling in the house that he forgot to charge me for something. I explained that I was on an important call and would call him later to work out the difference he said “ah forget it and walked out” (very unprofessional) who walks in someone’s house without knocking.
Rogers came to the house programmed the remotes and all Rogers boxes were up and running nicely.
One day later one of the TVs has static and no picture, after calling Rogers and them resetting the box and checking everything 2 hours on the phone everything regarding Rogers is working perfect but I still have no channel, tv works but the connection is bad when the tv was wired and it is mounted firmly that I cannot access anything. I call Alex to have him come back to fix the wiring he did guarantee me his job and told me when he was here installing that there is a warranty on any work he does. As soon as I explain the problem, and all that Rogers told me he starts making excuses, when you moved the tv you must have broke something , when Rogers came they broke something all excuses but bluntly refused to come back to rectify the problem and then went on to threaten us with a law suit if we canceled payment on the cheque until the job is complete. He was rude and screaming at us on the phone and the end result is I now need to hire someone who is actually competent to come back and redo the job he refused to complete.

BUYERS BEWARE... stick with geek squad! For the same price they will honour their work and send personable, friendly and polite people to your home to do the work!!!! Don’t waste your money on Set Up Team! They are constantly trying to rip people off! Horrible company! Alex is awful!

Company Response

Allow me to address this review in a chronological order.
Our company was contracted to unmount and move 4! TV's which one of them was above 70 inches in size and installation of those 4! TV's in a nearby location + wall mounting 3 multimedia shelves, this job was done by 2 technicians! we went above and beyond for the client and included in our service FREE basic wire management (which is a service that's usually cost money) for this entire service package the client was charged $835+tax!!!
I'm not a preacher, however, I did point to the client the due to improper previous installation there was a noticeable damage to the wall which we remove the TV from, in the new house we have offered to replace the unsuitable bracket for the 70+ inch TV with a significantly better quality and safer bracket for only $70 which the client happily accepted and never paid for.
There was another wall mount bracket that we showed to the client that was not properly connected to the TV and was missing a couple of key components which affected the safety of the TV.
"Alex had wired the TVs and said Rogers had nothing to do but program our remotes" !!! YES I DID !!! and I also programmed the remotes!!! not only that I spend extra time wiring everything for free!!! I also made sure that they will have a workable TV for that day, when we left their house we double-check that all TVs are working and even Rogers was on!
I have to admit I did roll up my eyes when they said the only method of payment they have is a check, I'm sorry but a check is a huge discomfort for business and I would prefer credit cards.
LESS than 2 minutes after I left the client's house I've noticed that I forgot to give her back one of the remotes I also remembered that I forgot to charge $70 for the wall mounting bracket the client decided to purchase,
I came back and politely knocked on the door, then the client's daughter opens the door and lets me in. I gave the daughter back the remote and ask to speak with her mama.
I told the client that I apologize but I forgot the charger for the wall mount bracket,
the client's response was: "That was the only check that I have" I said okay nevermind the mount is free, and I left her house.
That was AUG 30th
On Sep 3 a long weekend Labor Day holiday.
at 4:52pm the client called me and left me a voice message at 5:13 I called the client back, the client told me that's Rogers in one of the rooms doesn't work and demanded me to come back and fix it! I asked the client a couple of questions in order to determine what's the exact problem, instead of answering my question the client decided to threaten me that she will cancel the check and then she hangs up. I called her back and tried calmly to explain to her that I would try and solve it over the phone because today( long weekend holiday) I will not be to help her in person since I'm with my family and far away from her city.
I've asked the client to send me a photo of the back of the TV which she did at 5:29 pm. After reviewing the photos I called her back at 5:31pm.
In the photos I noticed that's one of the HDMI cables was unplugged and I told that to the client and I ask the client to plug the cable back, to which she answered "I'm having a bite right now I will call you back"
At 6:23 PM I have received this review!
Still waiting for the client to call back and I'm still willing to help.
