Brought a 5 ton truck instead of the 1 ton necessary. Cost us an additional $500. Fail to respond after move.

The two movers that came were very nice and courteous but I feel the company did insufficient research prior to the move and became very unresponsive afterwards. They brought 5 ton truck for a small 2 bedroom apartment which in turn required them to park a block away because they couldn't fit it into the garage. The entire load filled maybe 1/4th truck and because they brought a truck to move the size of a house when our quote specifically said a 800 sq ft apartment; It could have been done with a 1 ton truck. We ended up paying an additional 3-4 hours on top, meaning it almost doubled the price of the original quote. We chose them because of a nice hand written card as I sold my old place. We reached out after the move to try and discuss where this miscommunication could have gone wrong and Ryan Holland, who booked our move initially, suddenly became unresponsive.

Update: Was contacted by the owner and compensated two hours of labor.

Approximate cost of services:
$1,100.00

Company Response

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing that our movers were nice and courteous and that they managed the move without any damage. Upon receipt of your initial email, a call was made to the driver of your job. We wanted to get a full picture of the move. I asked him to reach out to you and make things right. He said he left you a message but you did not return his call.
We have done hundreds of small moves with zero issue about parking. Our company only has 5 ton trucks but never have a problem parking out front of buildings. In this particular move we were asked to move our truck multiple times.... once by the adjacent buildings manager and another by bylaw enforcement. This forced us to move our truck to the location you're upset about. We tried our best to have a smooth move and efficient move. Expect a phone call directly from the President of the company on this matter.

Kind Regards
