I was taking on a home renovation project in my main floor bathroom. Its a 50s house, so time for a full gutting of the room and start from the ground up. Once the old tub was out and I was able to pull up the top layer of vinyl flooring, I found the original tile was still underneath that layer. Judging by the timelines, and some advice from a relative, I had the lower tile tested, which came back positive for asbestos.
Due to rotten subfloor beneath this layer, I had no choice but to have it removed. I called up Gil and Gabriel, and they came out Easter Sunday of all days, to set up and remove. Once on scene, they worked quickly and efficiently, all work was completed within 3 hours. The next day they were back to remove the equipment, and provide advice on further renovations.
These guys came in considerably less than some of the other quotes I received, but were at a cost that felt more than reasonable. It seems like so many companies try to bend you over a barrel when it comes to asbestos removal.
