After being told by another Company that the compressor in my condo furnace was faulty and that I should replace the entire furnace at a cost of $10,000 I reached out to Home Trade Standards for a second opinion. They were extremely professional and honest and told me that the compressor in my furnace was fine and that there was no need to replace the furnace. They did repair work on my furnace at a considerable savings and provided me with a guarantee for their service. I highly recommend that anyone experiencing problems with their furnace contact this company. They were a blessing!

My seven year old heat pump stopped providing cool air. Igor and Kevin assessed and removed the unit for testing. The chassis failed to operate due to low refrigerant in the system. The unit had a leak and was repaired. I received excellent customer service from my first phone call to the reinstallation of the refurbished unit! Home Trade Standards replaced a heat pump chassis in my condo townhome and also repaired a malfunctioning gas fireplace.

They were courteous, knowledgeable, transparent, punctual, and the quality of their work was excellent. I especially appreciated how Kevin spent a considerable amount of time with me on the phone prior to the service call to accurately diagnose the problem and to explain in detail the work that needed to be done. This negated the need for an initial visit to diagnose the problem, and allowed the technicians to complete the repairs on their first and only visit. This was much appreciated given how cold the weather was.

Kevin was wonderful, and he was very quick to answer our texts. The technicians Mike and Hassan did an amazing job installing 2 of our fan coil units. They were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. This company helped us resolve an impossible situation in an efficient, responsive, reliable and price competitive way.
Here is what happened:
Unexpectedly we were faced with replacing a broken condo heat pump of a very specific type during post-covid opening and major Ontario heatwave, when technician can pick and choose their appointments and many do so.
Called around a number of various HVAC companies and variously were quoted very high or dealt with incompetent intake personnel or were given useless far-off appointment dates. Some did not want to provide service, claiming supply chain shortages or being fully booked.
Found Home Trade Standards on the web and contacted them after hours. Kevin the service manager called right back and delivered a quote very shortly. We got installation appointment in less than a week. Even though manufacturer /supplier erred and sent the wrong type of the pump, Home Trade Standards technician arranged to correct it and we had the pump installed and blowing ice cold air the following day.
The company was honest, easy to deal with, understood our predicament and the first one that actually showed customer service.

I was given a quote and promised a Magic Pak HVAC unit for my condo, plus $100 cashback. When I accepted the offer, I was informed that there are no Magic Pak units available in Canada at the moment and I have to accept a Canadian product Napoleon. This is a new product on the market while Magic Pak has been a leader for decades. I was forced to accept the alternative (for the price of Magic Pak) since I had a new tenant in my condo unit and could not make him wait. The installation was ok and I am told the unit is working well. I am still chasing the company for the cashback - 6 weeks since the install and numerous emails - still waiting. Overall - not a great experience.
