Just had the worst experience with the administration of this moving company.
Called a few companies looking for a good price for REAL piano movers. The person on the phone here assured me they had the equipment and then told me that if I scheduled a move that it would be a flat fee of 350.00. She then told me that if the movers were already out that day for another move I could 'tack' on my piano move after they were done and save around 150.00. She then explained how that was possible. I decided to go with this company on that basis.
In the end the movers were very late (and I took part of the afternoon off to be there). This is understandable though, as it's hard to predict how long a home move will take. They did not have the right equipment. There were a few times when I thought the piano was going to fall over. I ended up being charged more than 350.00 and when I questioned it was asked to speak to the office manager - Miranda. She proceeded to tell me how wrong I was in everything I was saying (when she let me actually talk). Continued to talk over me until I just stopped talking to her. I called the office the next day and was directed to her again. The conversation was just a repeat of the previous day and she refused completely to listen and spoke over me the whole time.
There appears to be a serious disconnect between what their front end people commit to on the phone and what they actually do/charge. Customer Service is most definitely not this company's strong point. If they want to remain in business it might be a good idea to invest in some training in this area.
As the movers can attest, I will be needing a moving company - both for house contents and to re-move the piano into its permanent place, but I will not be calling this company. I will also ensure anyone I know who needs movers will avoid this company as well. This is unfortunate, as it will impact the independent movers that do the actual moving.
Update: was left a voice mail by Miranda to call her supervisor - John Anthony as she didn't think I felt the situation was 'resolved'. I phoned him 3 times, left 2 voice messages and have yet to receive a call back.
