Basement Builders

We hired the Basement Builders in the summer to complete our unfinished basement in a 3 year-old house. They were punctual and communicated effectively to advise us of what to expect at every point through the process.

We did a fairly specialized sound-isolation treatment in our basement, and Matt, Ben, and the Basement Builders were patient and collaborative as we addressed each piece of the build as it progressed. They indulged my whims and frequent course-reversals as we navigated the challenging landscape of building out double-layered, Green Glue inclusive ceiling and walls. I felt as though they were interested in my vision for the project, and consequently invested in the product I wanted. I had a chance to converse with many of their sub-trades, and they were all wonderful to deal with - I was genuinely impressed by the caliber of labour they're able to attract.

Although there were some delays, Matt and Ben managed the communication and set expectations so effectively that we were never left wondering "what's next?".

I strongly recommend working with the Basement Builders as they've got an incredibly well-oiled machine that keeps focus on the customer's needs and wants, a rare quality with any vendor these days.

We had basement builders renovate our basement and the end product was phenomenal. Matt was very responsive to all of our queries and very helpful throughout the process. The trades used were all wonderful and very professional. The project took slightly longer than we had thought but it was well worth the wait. We love our new basement and would definitely recommend Basement Builders to friends and family.

The Basement Builders team did a fantastic, very professional job with our basement. They were ready to start the project not long after we accepted their offer and the work was completed on schedule and on budget. Their vendors were pleasant to deal with and everything was delivered as per our selections. They were very careful not to damage anything around the house going down to the basement and even repainted some of the walls. Everything was also kept very clean during construction. I would recommend this company for any basement development or renovation needs.

I had my basement developed by Basement Builders. When I met with the founder Mathew, he told me he wanted 10/10 from all customers. He and Ben sure delivered. I am very happy about the developed basement, and I appreciate Mathew and Ben's help during the basement development. For all emails I sent, Mathew replied within 5 - 10 minutes. Small issues I found were addressed quickly. All questions I had were explained with patience.

Besides excellent customer services, Basement Builders also has great trades with quality products. I'm very happy about the flooring, tile, lighting and bathroom cabinet/quartz I chose for my basement. I'm also amazed by the pocket door they installed. It feels so much nicer than the rest of the pocket doors in my house.

The work was completed as promised and all the contractors were very professional. We referred them to my cousin and they are also getting their basement developed with them.Thanks for the amazing basement we can use for a long time. Scope of work was a complete basement Reno in an undeveloped basement including Bathroom, Bedroom, Storage Room and Rec Room in a 2 year old home in Auburn Bay.

Matthew and Ben were exceptional to deal with. Communication was clear and well organized, all contracts were present electronically and change orders were both clear and fairly priced. Over quality was excellent- the basement matches / exceeds the overall quality of a new home. Two small issues arose with paint colour and ceiling texture, both were delt with 100% professionally and without any concern. All trades were polite and clean. I appreciated the protection installed on the main floor construction traffic area throughout the build. Payment terms reflected the overall professionalism of the company. Duration of build could have been slightly quicker, however overall quality and experience was well worth the few extra weeks.

Basement builders provided an exceptional product and experience. I am an executive in the home building industry and would be happy to provide a reference for Matthew and Ben anytime.
