We asked about new vs. repairs, to compare costs. With current rebates + estimated energy cost savings vs. what it was going to cost to repair and keep running our old (builder supplied, very inefficient) furnace, it made sense to replace rather than repair.
The new furnace was in, up and running, toasty and warm the next morning. Stronger airflow, quieter. Should pay for itself in energy cost savings over the next 4 - 5 years.
