Entrance Ramp and Deck

The elevated wooden entrance ramp+deck of our country home was in sore need of replacement. The maintenance effort was excessive. Lack of durability meant that the ramp surface, in particular, rarely looked good. The durability issue ruled out wood, composite, plastic, PVC and many others - practically everything but stone and concrete. When we saw the products Stone Deck Landscapes carried (Silca grates, concrete stones, etc.) we thought we had a durable and aesthetically-pleasing solution to our problem. And we did! Greg was very helpful - no hassle - a pleasure to work with. He provided lots of advice, and his experience and detailed knowledge meant that we could have confidence in that advice. We would happily deal with Stone Deck Landscapes again, and would strongly recommend them.

Outdoor stonework

This stone product was applied to my front porch and to two existing concrete sidewalks. It was also used to create a new patio by the pool. Greg (owner) visited numerous times to explain the process, show samples and give advice. The work was done efficiently with extreme attention to detail and with absolutely no mess. There was one minor issue with a sprinkler head and it was promptly attended to the next day after email notification. I would certainly recommend this company and their product.

Stone deck / pad in backyard

We are absolutely pleased with the results of our yard. Stone Deck Landscapes (Greg) took the time to understand our 'wants' and budget constraints to come up with a beautiful layout and a plan to keep us on track. Besides function, we wanted something that would be low maintenance and long lasting; we got that along with finishing on time and on budget. We would highly recommend Stone Deck Landscapes to anyone looking to add a long lasting stone feature to their yard.

Rooftop deck

Putting a deck on a flat roof 4 stories up is not as simple as one would think. Greg was extremely helpful providing suggestions, things to consider, and answering an array of questions. Once we found a modular solution (Silica system combined with Bison tiles), he also told us and then came by to show us how we could do it ourself. It took us four days and only a couple readjustments. We are very happy with our choice and will likely expand the deck in the future.

Stone Deck

I had a deck that had direct sun exposure for about ¾ of the day and it was constructed on as a traditional deck using pressure treated. As a result of getting sun exposure the wood weathered very quickly. As a result I was tired of sanding and staining the deck every year. My deck was only about 250 sq feet but it was still big enough to cause me aggravation to maintain it every year.

As a result I looked at various options of maintenance free decks, composite, rubber rock and stone. It was a very good learning experience learning about the pros and cons of all the products and the cost of each product versus one another. At the end of the day I felt that the stone option was the best option for me and my application.
I then Googled stone decks and I found stonedeck.ca that sells the silca grates and another company that sold the paverdeck system.

I had a representative from the Paverdeck company attend my residence to give me a quote. He spent a great deal of time stating that the silca grate product was an inferior product . He took the measurements of the deck and advised that he would be in touch with the quote. One week later , no quote, and I called him and left a message asking for the quote. Two weeks later no quote and I never heard from him since .

While I was waiting I called stonedeck landscapes ( www.stonedeck.ca) and the representative from the company attended and was very professional. I told him about the research that I have done so far and that Paverdeck had attended and that I was waiting for an estimate. He provided me pros of each system and what I was surprised at he commented favourably about the paverdeck system. Based on his professionalism and him being so candidate I decided to go with stonedeck.ca.

They were very professional and cost effective.

I was able to use my existing deck platform but it had to be reinforced to accommodate the extra weight. By using my existing deck I was able to do my part for the environment by nor contributing to more wasted to the land fill. The crew that attended explained to be the process of each step and were very professional and polite. They were prompt and always cleaned the site after each day of work.
The finished product went beyond my expectations. It looks great and the best thing I will never have to sand and stain the deck again. Maintenance free !!!

The good thing is that it will increase the resale value of my home when I sell it since it is maintenance free. My neighbour loves the look and he has made great comments on it.

If you want to turn your old wood deck into a interlock deck, Stone Deck Landscapes is the way to go.

Pergola Design and Build

I would like to write this letter to comment on StoneDeck Landscapes. I have used StoneDeck in the past to stone the front entrance of my home. At that time I was very impressed with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew that did the work. So I called them and I spoke to Greg, the owner, and he remembered me. He told me that he did not do installation work any longer and I have to say that I was very disappointed to hear that . He advised me that he was now focusing on the distribution of their products solely.

I told him that I wanted to build a Pergola and that I found a design on the internet that I liked . Since I was a former customer he agreed to have a look at the Pergola and I sent him an email of the image I found on the internet. Four days later Greg called me back and agreed to do the work. He came over to my home and he measured the area that I had and he had drafted some rough plans he had created /designed in conjuction with the image that I sent him. He had no plans , just the image and he hit the design right on.

The finished product was perfect and the structure and quality was second to none. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the work that I received . He is a true craftsman. If you are able to convince him to do the work then I would very much recommend that you do so. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks again .

Decking

We recently bought a house in Nova Scotia, house is in great condition but has two large wooden deck areas that will require a lot of initital maintenance, as opposes to doing it now and again in a couple of years we wanted to find a reasonable solution. Traditional interlock is crazy expensive due to the rock base and the elevation of the decks so our search lead us to Silca Grates. The idea seemed like an excellent idea, simply remove the decking, screw these grates onto the framing and drop your stone. We contacted Stone Deck Landscapes, a dealer in Ottawa - they were absolutely great! Greg the owner spent considerable amount of time over several phone calls as well as several email correspondences back and forth explaining in detail what the system was about, how to best utilize it and several tips on how to best save time and money. Their pricing of the Silca grates was the best we found in Canada and shipping to Nova Scotia as very reasonable for two pallets of the product. Placing the order was easy and the product arrived in good order 5 days later as promissed. Can’t wait to start on my deck! I will write back once my deck is done to speak to the actual use of the Silca, but felt it was important to give credit to a great Canadian company. Thanks you Stone Deck Landscapes!
