I contacted three different companies for this work, and Vel stood out right from the time Randy came out to visit the site to make the quote. He is very personable, and explained everything in detail, as well as being encouraging in doing it the 'right' way (ie. getting a permit from the city). Stay away from those that say you don't need a permit. After that, working with Kim on the phone and through email to answer any questions I had regarding the quote, and what was included, was always great, always prompt, always helpful. Next, they told me the work would take three days (I had two bigger than normal windows, with oversized window wells that required a much bigger well than normal), and indicated what would be done on each day.... well, they did it exactly as they indicated, and everything went smoothly. They created very little mess (which they cleaned up) inside and outside the house, and the final product looks great! One of my other basement windows needed a repair to the screen, and Randy fixed that without even asking (I went to fix it a couple days later and noticed it was fixed!)! It's the little things like that that make you smile. A great, organized, quality company. I can't recommend them highly enough!

We researched out the cost and associated work involved to have an Egress window installed. We had 4 quotes and all were competitive but we decided to go with VEL Windows. From start to finish, VEL was professional and very helpful. Their work speaks for itself and we are very happy with the work completed. From customer service to final installation, VEL was awesome and I would Highly recommend for a project of this nature.

I contacted Vel on the recommendation of my contractor. What we had done was to enlarge an existing basement window. This required cutting the concrete, excavating the existing window well, installing a drainage system that tied into our existing weeping tile, and installing a header. Then backfilling and installing a new window well. Well, it looks great and there was no mess for me to clean up. They did it all. A couple of days later, the City inspector came by and said it was excellent work. I would definitely recommend Vel.

Randy came to our rurual home, gave us a general estimate and timeline for replacing all our windows. Offered to do it in stages if we could not afford the entire amount. He was extremely professional and was right on target with costs and installation time frame. Work was done quickly and home left clean. Windows look great! Thanks for doing such a teriffic job!

Just feel this is a company you can rely on when you make your first phone call. The office manager knows technical stuff and is willing to discuss and confirm every single detail with you before the work starts.
I have a basement bedroom project that needs concrete cutting on a load bearing wall, header and bearing studs installation for joists support, egress window installation, and window well drainage to foundation to pass city inspection. It was a multi-discipline job requires several trades done but VEL behaved as a one-stop-shop and did all the major work plus exterior recover such as parging, siding, cleaning, and even landscape repair.
Once the job was done it was like nothing ever happened in my backyard except for a brand new window.
