This is your typical construction company. Very friendly at first (posers) and will then take advantage of any situation they can.
In this case, they were hired to complete a job I was unable to finish due to time constraints. They proposed an estimate that seemed high but the owner assured me that there would be at least 80 hrs of work for 3 men. So, 240-300 hrs of work. After approximately 40 hours of work the job was done. I assumed that the costs would be adjusted accordingly, but unfortunately this company, like most , takes a short sighted approach to doing business and indicated that the original price had to be paid. As a rational they indicated that if the job took one week long to complete would I have paid them more? They are quite right, it's not likely, but I am resonable so it is possible depending on the reasons for the delay. More impotantly this leads me to believe that this company regularly over estimates by 100% to shield themselves from a loss or they do not have the ability to estimate jobs. Either way it will end with you paying the bill.
As far the work itself goes, it has been completed in a manner that is again self serving. It is not wrong, but it is the easyest way for them to do it and say it is complete. Long story short I'll have to redo some of it to be able to gyprock the inside of the garage. The workers, on the other hand seemed friendly and punctual which is the only reason they received a two star. But under the direction of this contractor didnt offer the best work they could have.
